The footage of Jaye P. Morgan flashing her breasts was taken from an actual taping of The Gong Show (1976) from which it had been deleted for television content restriction reasons.
The gag where Chuck Barris tries to help a woman being abused by her husband, only to be assaulted by the woman and the husband, was originally done by Buster Keaton in Our Hospitality (1923).
The wording of the headline on the front-page of the framed articles from the fake show-business trade paper 'Extra: Hollywood Evening News' seen in the office of Chuck Barris read: "GONG MOVIE SMASH HIT - BARRIS NEXT FELLINI". The name Fellini refers to renowned Italian film director Federico Fellini. This film was anything but a smash hit.
After the films abysmal failure at the box-office it was withdrawn after a mere three days which basically represented the movie's opening weekend.
The movie was never released on home video either on tape or laser-disc during the 1980s or even the 1990s. It's first home video release was on DVD and Blu-Ray disc during the mid 2010s.
