During the pre-VRA days of UK video viewing, one of the fun things about going down to a video shop was you were able to peruse the shelves at your leisure and by simply looking at the back cover, you would hire a film and not know too much about it. The stills were always enticing, even if the end result wasn't all that great.
One of the films that I remember seeing and being impressed with from using this method was a little known horror movie called THE NESTING. A young woman writer moves into a house and encounters all manner of strange things occuring while she is there.
The atmosphere of the film and the eventual revelation is cool and skillfully executed and although it doesn't have the shock horror effect of movies like THE EXORCIST and THE AMITYVILLE HORROR, it is worth a look.
