- This movie is the most grusome makeup work of Tom Savini, who did makeup effects on Dawn of and Day of the Dead, Friday The 13th, Friday the 13th 4, Maniac, and From Dusk till Dawn, all very grusome movies, so proceed with caution.
- Incredible detail to the murders. A man has a large bayonet style knife driven through the top of his skull and exits through his jaw. The death lasts about 10 seconds and looks seemingly authentic.
- Point blank shotgun blast to the head in great detail. You actually see teeth, hair and brains flying out of the exploding skull.
- This movie is a great slasher but very violent. Not for the faint of heart.
- All of the violence in The Prowler lingers and is very Bloody.
- A couple is stabbed with a pitchfork and blood flows out of their bodies.
- A woman is stabbed with a pitchfork and blood gushes out of her stomach.
- A woman attempts to exit a swimming pool but is kicked in the face, causing her to fall back in. Her throat is then slit.
