Trivialidades:

Ed Horman and Joyce Horman ("Beth" in the film) worked very closely with Costa-Gavras, Lemmon, and Spacek throughout the film's production. Costa-Gavras said that after Pinochet died (in December 2006), both he and Joyce Horman felt regret that the former Chilean dictator was not brought to justice.

Goofs:

Anachronisms: Several late-70s AMC/VAM (Vehiculos Automotores Mexicanos S.A.) cars such as Hornets and Pacers appear throughout the movie, despite depicting events in 1973.

Missing

Powerful, compelling political melodrama with Lemmon and Spacek involved in a frustrating search for a political prisoner (his son, her husband) during a South American coup. They run into a wall of double-talk and red tape from their own American embassy and local government officials. Academy Award winning screenplay from director Gavras and Donald Stewart. Both Lemmon and Spacek were Oscar nominated, as was the picture. In all respects, this is an excellent film.
