Holy smokes...

A VERY low key fx movie. In fact, there aren't any. The story line is completely carried along by the actors. And they all do an incredibly fine job. Even the kiddie actors are outstanding.

No "Let's win one for the Gipper" message here. Just a full bore statement that a nuclear war would be tons and tons of total non-fun.

A movie that definitely gets you in the mood to be really, really cranky towards those who seem to think that it's "perfectly alright" to turn all that you care about into radioactive charcoal "because they just felt like it."

Two dead hooves up from me on this one. For its highly realistic story, and the production values that did such an outstanding job of doing so much with so little.
