Love, Divided is a Spanish romantic drama on Netflix about two hopeless romantics who happen upon each other. Love, Divided is not your average movie, depicting a meet-cute followed by the ups and downs of modern dating. Love, Divided is a remake of the 2015 French film Blind Date, which, even though quite cheesy, presents a fresh concept that leads to a romantic development. One might even assume that Love, Divided is a comment on modern-day online dating, in which the participants are reduced to their physical appearance and often misrepresent themselves as well. This movie also shows Valentina’s struggles with living her life by someone else’s standards and how her talents are exploited in the process for someone else’s gain, which, in hindsight, is something women often face. Through David’s character, the movie explores how some people have the tendency to completely isolate themselves as a coping mechanism for grief.

Blind Date Book Club by Peter Benson can totally get you if you’re a book lover and have this secret dream of finding your soulmate in a cozy book club. It’s all centered around Mimi’s Book Corner, this quaint little shop where all the magic happens. Meg Thompkins, the owner, came up with the brilliant idea of starting a book club there. And let me tell you, it’s caused quite the stir in Nantucket! But here’s the thing: Meg’s so busy focusing on the books that she doesn’t realize the book club could actually be bringing soulmates together. Then in comes Graham Sterling, this big-shot author looking to shake things up by promoting his not-so-popular work under the name Dylan Turner in Meg’s Book Club. When Meg and Graham meet, they feel a special connection, but they don’t realize they’re falling in love.

The latest episode of Paramount+’s “Frasier,” entitled “Blind Date,” followed as Kelsey Grammer’s titular character competed with his son Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott) for the affections of a woman named June (June Diane Raphael) in a 22-page-long scene.
Director Kelly Park told TheWrap that filming the sequence was “one of the highlights” of her career.
“It really allowed me to prove to myself that I am a technical director,” she said. “Kelsey Grammer was wonderful because he collaborated with me and was with me all the way. It was really divine… they just let me play, let me create, and allowed me to delve into what Frasier used to be and bring it back home.”
But directing a multi-camera comedy in front of a live studio audience is no easy feat.

Considered by many to be “Brazil’s Freddy Krueger,” the horror icon known as Coffin Joe was played by the late José Mojica Marins, who wrote, directed and starred in a series of outrageous movies from 1964 to 2008. They’re collected together for an Arrow Video Blu-ray set that was just announced this morning, fittingly titled Inside the Mind of Coffin Joe.
The 6-disc Blu-ray set will release in the US, UK, and Canada on November 28, 2023.
“Newly restored from the best available elements and packed with extras, Inside the Mind of Coffin Joe is a love letter to one of the great iconoclasts of horror who forged his films in the face of military dictatorship and religious censorship to become Brazil’s national Boogeyman.”

One of the more unexpected shifts in media habits during the pandemic, at least for me, has been a new interest in those little bird-box book libraries that inhabit front lawns in the quieter neighborhoods here. I regularly pass a dozen of them on a circuit of five or six miles around Santa Monica and Brentwood. Always, I stop to see what they’re offering. Sometimes, bag and sanitizer in hand, I’ll actually swap a book.
It’s a fascinating exercise, in that the books—from a crumbling Pocket Book edition of George Plimpton’s Out of My League, printed in 1967, to the hefty contemporary cookbooks at a stand-up shed in Santa Monica Canyon—turn out to be far more intellectually, culturally, and politically diverse than the current run of lawn signs, cable news or festival films.

It's been more than a decade since the 1990s ended, yet the Internet can't seem to go a day without a reminder of the neon slap bracelets that may have been banned from your school.
Yes, we get it. Times are tough and there's comfort in reflection, but enough is enough.
