- Scudder wakes up in a drunken ward suffering from alcohol withdrawl. He walks with a limp, and is shown foaming at the mouth.
- In the later half of the movie, Scudder and an acquaintance discover fake wooden logs filled with cocaine in the back section of a market store.

- In the beginning of the film, a man is about to be arrested by sheriff's deputies when he hits one of them with a baseball bat, forcing one of the deputies to shoot him in the chest, killing him.
- Near the end of the film, a violent shootout ensues during a drug deal. Two men are killed, one of them is shown flinching on the ground as a result of his nerves still being active.
