After a disappointingly small amount of screen time in a supporting role as the Joker in Suicide Squad, Jared Leto is returning to leading man status. THR reports that the Oscar winner will portray pop artist Andy Warhol in a new biopic called Warhol, which is being written by The Wolf of Wall Street scribe Terence Winter and produced by Michael De Luca (The Social Network, Captain Phillips).
Warhol was a fascinating figure, a vibrant artist in multiple fields, and a figurehead of the New York City art world in the 1960s. He was also openly gay in a time when that wasn't nearly as culturally accepted as it is now. Recently, Bill Hader played Warhol in Men in Black 3, and Cary Elwes is playing him in the upcoming Billionaire Boys Club. John Cameron Mitchell also played the artist in HBO's short-lived series Vinyl, a series for which Winter was the showrunner.

Deadline reports that Oscar-winning House of Cards star Kevin Spacey has joined the cast of two new movies, both of which coincidentally star young up-and-comer Ansel Elgort in a leading role.
First up, he's joining Edgar Wright's new action movie musical Baby Driver, in which he'll reportedly play a crime boss that convinces the title character (Elgort) to be a getaway driver for him. The outlet originally reported that Jamie Foxx was going to be playing the crime lord in that film, but though he's supposedly still in the movie, I guess this role has gone to Spacey and Foxx will be playing someone else. (It's unclear. Thanks, Deadline.) Jon Hamm plays a cop-killing bank robber and Lily James will play a waitress who is the female lead/love interest. The movie is scheduled to skid into theaters on March 17th, 2017, and you can read much more about it right here.

It looks like, for the time being, Aaron Sorkin is staying true to his word and sticking to film writing, thanks to a few rounds of poker. The West Wing and Newsroom creator has signed on to adapt the memoir Molly's Game, a tell-all written by Molly Bloom, who for eight years ran the world's most exclusive poker game in Los Angeles. Mark Gordon under The Mark Gordon Company has optioned the rights to the book and set Sorkin to pen the script, after the two most recently came together for the upcoming and still Steve Jobs-less Steve Jobs biopic.

We were already super excited that Rihanna's fashion reality show "Styled To Rock" was making its way from the UK to states. Now comes news that Pharrell Williams will be joining the cast as a mentor when the series hits the air sometime this year on the Style Network.
The famed producer, who is known for his unique personal style, has made his mark in the fashion industry with his Billionaire Boys Club clothing line and is planning to launch a new collection called Bee Line. Looks like there's another man in Rihanna's life. But rest assured, he's the singer's brother. The Barbadian beauty was snapped with her younger sibling Rajad Thursday in NYC where the good-looking pair spent some quality time together. Ri-Ri looked edgy and cool in a black blazer, denim shorts and pointed-toe high heels, and she added black shades and a slew of Chanel necklaces to accessorize her signature style. The pop star's younger brother seemed content to be spending time with his big sis, sporting a "Billionaire Boys Club" sweatshirt for their afternoon shopping trip. And clearly, the 25-year-old songstress enjoyed the brother-sister...

Miley Cyrus certainly has enough cash in the bank to foot her own bills, but it's always nice when dad picks up the check! Apparently, Billy Ray Cyrus has been doing just that! "just found out you've been paying for my wifi and phone bill for the past year," Miley, 20, tweeted Tuesday. "Thanks dad! Xo Sissy" By the next day, Liam Hemsworth's lady had moved on to the selfie. The bride-to-be posted a cute pic of herself making a kissy face and wearing a shirt from Pharrell's clothing brand, Billionaire Boys Club. She tweeted the shot to the music producer, hashtagging it "#bigbro #bbc #leaderoftheBGC" If by Bgc she means Billionaire Girls Club, we would like to...

Emerging after a concert in Nottingham and a very late night in London, Justin Bieber returned to his hotel on Sunday (March 3).
The 19-year-old pop star looked a little tired in a gray Billionaire Boys Club hoodie, leopard-print pants, and matching sneakers as he made his way back with his entourage.
Perhaps relieved to be working again after his so-called "worst birthday," the "Beauty and a Beat" singer tweeted, "Nottingham thanks for being there for me to tonight. Love u."
Later, as his fans sent encouraging words for the downtrodden teenager, the Biebs posted, "I see and saw all the posts from around the world. U got me smiling. Love u. Thank u. #beliebers."...

What is Movie News After Dark? It doesn’t have time to explain it to you, yo. We just gotta get out of here, Mr. White! We begin this evening with the first image from the upcoming fifth and final season of Breaking Bad, courtesy of AMC. And guess what? It’s a shot of Walt (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse (Aaron Paul) standing in a field looking less than pleased with their surroundings. Even though it’s a shot we’ve seen a million times in four seasons, it never ceases to be interesting. This interview with Brave director Mark Andrews, as conducted by /Film’s Germain Lussier, is a great read. He too was disappointed with what happened to John Carter. Vulture ruminates on five consequences of the sinking of Battleship, including one that ought to be true: “From now on, only members of the Billionaire Boys Club will getshoot-for-the-moon budgets.” Only...

Leo Wolinsky was brought in after several rounds of layoffs at the trade, and now he was pushed out after less than a year in the job. Before coming to Variety, Wolinsky had spent many years in senior level roles at the Los Angeles Times. But, as I wrote back on December 8th, why in the world would that newspaper's errand boy be named editor of Daily Variety (both the La and NY editions) because the guy knew nothing about the entertainment biz. I registered surprise at what a bad choice this is. He was long considered a joke at the La Times and infamous for secretly helping wrangle billionaire potential local backers like Eli Broad, Ron Burkle, Richard Riordan, and David Geffen when then bigwig editors were fighting with Tribune Co. (Finke/La Weekly: Baquet's Billionaire Boys Club). He briefly sat atop the La Times' entertainment and feature sections...

Hip-hop star Pharrell Williams has filed suit against an Italian fashion firm in a dispute over the trademarking rights to his Ice Cream clothing line. The Neptunes beatmaker is suing bosses of the Gilmar Group for blocking a trademark application for his brand name on the grounds it's too similar to the firm's Ice and Iceberg labels.
The producer claims adding the word "cream" - street slang for money - "creates a vastly different sound, appearance, meaning and overall commercial impression," reports the New York Post. Williams turned fashion designer when he founded his luxury clothing lines Ice Cream and Billionaire Boys Club with Japanese music producer Nigo in 2005.

You may have slept, but innovation was raging against the dying of the light.
1. Let's go back to the Gulf. Yesterday was the first day of the shrimping season, and life carried on as normal. However, although there have been no official tests put in place, buyers are refusing to pay the fishermen until they have tested the catch themselves. Post-Deepwater, it looks like offshore deep drilling permits will be subject to further environmental review.
2. Oh God, it's Abu Ghraib all over again, but this time it's on Facebook. A female Israeli soldier has posted photos of herself next to blindfolded and bound Palestinian prisoners. That sure is classy, Eden Aberjil, whose album was entitled: "The army: the best days of my life." Oddly enough, the BBC report, which had originally pixelated out only Aberjil's face, has now masked the prisoners' identity. The soldier denies any wrongdoing. Elsewhere, Kara Swisher...

James Cox ("Wonderland") has signed on to direct the indie crime thriller "Billionaire Boys Club" says The Hollywood Reporter.
The project is based on the true 80's-era story of a group of wealthy young Harvard-Westlake graduates who schemed to use investor money to support their lavish lifestyles. When funds ran dry in 1984, founding member Joe Hunt fell back on extortion, kidnapping and ultimately murder.
Cox's script, which he thoroughly researched and co-wrote with his brother, will focus on a character created from a composite of several BBC members. That character falls under Hunt's influence and starts committing deceptions that evolve into outright fraud. He must ultimately decide where he wants his life to go.
Holly Wiersma is producing and shooting on the sub-$15 million project kicks off later this Summer.

James Cox will direct the indie true crime thriller "Billionaire Boys Club," based on the true story about a group of wealthy young men in Los Angeles during the '80s who resorted to murders after their social and investment club went sour.
Holly Wiersma is producing the film, which is budgeted at less than $15 million. A late-summer/early fall start date is planned.

Hunt, who represented himself, remains behind bars.
