Ayumi-sensei's skimpy battle outfit was a design originally intended for Project A-Ko (1986). Early in the movie's production, Project A-ko was planned as an episode of the adult OAV series Cream Lemon, Ayumi's outfit reflected the adult nature of that phase of the production.
The two burger shop employees are caricatures of the members of the J-POP duo BaBe. BaBe also lent their voices to their animated counterparts, and performed the ending theme "Get A Chance!"
Yawara and Jingoro, the two Judo experts from the Japanese manga "Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl", briefly appear as customers in the fast food restaurant where A-ko works.
The three girls shown in the adult movie scene were the alter egos of a pop group known as "Lemon Angel". They had released several albums and adult-oriented live action/animated videos during the late-'80s.
The character of Kei Yuki is named after a female character in the Captain Harlock franchise.
