Great Sex education!
JingleBallNYC31 December 2001
I wish my health teacher showed us this movie instead of those other boring sex-ed movie. This film, which can only be seen in Disney World, provides a light and touching look into the creation of human beings. The plot is very "back-to-the-futurish" with Martin Short being an un-born person who sees his parents through the early stages of their life up until the moment he is conceived. Martin Short also plays the father. It describes the "baby-making" process wonderfully by talking about it as an act of love and not as an act of science (like those terrible sex-ed movies). If you are ever in Disney World, EPCOT to be exact, be sure to see this wonderful film.

One of the more forgettable Disney World attractions - now gone
don-lockwood4 February 2006
"The Making of Me" is a "Back to the Future"-style short film starring Martin Short that played in the Wonders of Life pavilion at Walt Disney World's Epcot in Orlando until the pavilion was recently taken down in a process of renovation. Short is both funny and appealingly believable as the protagonist/narrator, but unfortunately the small production was one of the more dated presentations at Disney up until its removal. For example, I don't think it would be spoiling anything to write that Short utters a line something to the effect that "every one of us is the result of...," to put it bluntly, sex (though the show more tastefully, admirably does so for family audiences). Of course, this is sadly dated because it does not account for artificial insemination and disregards adoption. Overall, the show is admirable but ultimately awkward for a Disney World attraction.

How to Watch this movie

Warning: Spoilers
Every time I visit Epcot, I make it a point to go to the pavilion and watch this film. I think it is a very clear and understandable film for kids and appealing to them. I used to live in Orlando and would always go there and to see the France area. The video was my favorite! The pavilion used to contain an exercise area. Does anyone remember this one? I can't remember the specific name, though. I'm a teacher at a private high school, teaching wellness. I just thought of it and typed this title in. WOW - it came up and I was really surprised to find it. I'm having difficulty trying to open the video to watch it. How can you watch this online? I'm a wellness teacher and want to show this to my students. I didn't realize it was made in 1989. I feel one day I'll show up and it won't be there anymore. They've had other exhibits, but it seems this film is always there. Please give me any suggestions you might have in order to watch this video!
