Not sure if someone else has noticed this and already posted a message regarding it..........but S. Epatha Merkerson's recently achieved a record.

Since May 1993, Michele Lee's role on Knots Landing as Karen Mackenzie, held the record (at 344 episodes) for being the most episodes in a prime time drama that an actress has portrayed the same character. S. Epatha Merkerson, beat this record in May 2008, and therefore she has now portrayed Lt Anita Van Buren in more episodes of a prime time drama than any other actress has for any other role in any other prime time drama!

Daytime soaps don't count!
