You got us, The Masked Singer. We thought we knew all your tricks, and still, you got us.
The Season 6 premiere on Wednesday promised a double elimination, and it delivered… technically. Of the five new covert crooners we met during the hour, two were called upon to leave in the final moments. But only one was unmasked, leaving viewers to have to come back for the premiere’s second half — airing Thursday at 8/7c on Fox — to find out exactly who was wearing that (truly terrifying) costume.

Last year, “The Masked Singer” viewers witnessed the fourth winner being crowned when Sun (LeAnn Rimes) took home the Golden Mask over Mushroom (Aloe Blacc) and Crocodile (Nick Carter). Rimes now returns to Fox’s reality TV show during the May 26 finale to help reign in the fifth champion. But will it be Black Swan, Piglet or Chameleon that claims victory? Make your predictions before the episode airs Wednesday night on Fox.
Rimes will appear in the Season 5 finale as a guest panelist alongside regular celebrity sleuths Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger. She’ll join in the fun by guessing which famous faces might be hiding underneath the final three masks.

Ever since Black Swan first spread her wings at the start of the Group B performances of “The Masked Singer” Season 5, she’s been a fan-favorite to win the Golden Mask. “I am so excited about this because it’s nice to have a badass on this season,” remarked panelist Robin Thicke after her ear-pleasing rendition of “Barracuda.” Cut to today, where Black Swan has just made it into the coveted Top 4. If the black-feathered, red-beaked bird ends up winning the show, she’d be the third female “Masked Singer” winner in a row after Night Angel (Kandi Burruss) and Sun (LeAnn Rimes). Talk about girl power!

After two performances apiece, we have our first pair of front-runners to win “The Masked Singer” Season 4, according to Gold Derby’s predictions. Group A’s Sun currently leads with 10/1 odds, followed by Group B’s Seahorse in second place with 11/1 odds. It’s no surprise to see the divas at the top of our winner’s chart — after all, judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger have repeatedly praised their performances as the best. For “The Masked Singer,” this is the way. The smash hidden celebrity music competition has just revealed another first: “Baby Alien,” a puppet character sitting in a rocket — which is all, of course, a costume for one of this season’s contestants. Not only will the celebrity behind “Baby Alien” have to sing as usual, but the person inside the costume will have to operate the puppet as well.
Take that, Baby Yoda.
Fox aired a sneak preview of “The Masked Singer” Season 4 on Sunday night, and the show revealed all 16 of this year’s costumes — including Baby Alien, Crocodile, Broccoli, Gremlin, Mushroom, Jellyfish, Whatchamacalit, Lips, Squiggly Monster, Popcorn, Sun, Dragon, Giraffe, Seahorse, Snow Owls and Serpent.

For three seasons, no reality TV show has come close to matching the buzz, excitement and cool factor of Fox’s “The Masked Singer.” And for good reason. Where else on television can you see well-known celebrities dressing up in elaborate food/animal/creature costumes and singing their hearts out for the ultimate prize of the Golden Mask? However, rival shows like “The Voice,” “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent” still have a one-up on “The Masked Singer” when it comes to the exhilaration of live episodes. That’s when the voting power switches over to the fans and truly anything can happen up on the stage. Gold Derby recently asked “The Masked Singer” director whether they’ve ever considered going live, and his answer has us even more excited for future seasons.

After being unmasked as the Frog during Wednesday’s finale of “The Masked Singer” Season 3, Bow Wow says “it’s weird” not wearing his big-eyed, purple-hatted mask. In his post-show interview (watch above), the rapper reveals, “This ‘Masked Singer’ experience for me has been terrific. I learned a lot about myself. I learned to just try new things, jump out the box. At first I was like, I don’t know, a new tour coming up, what if I get out there and I snap my ankle?” Ultimately he signed up for Fox’s reality TV show to “see how far the talent can really go,” and it paid off as he came in third place behind only Kandi Burruss (Night Angel) and Jesse McCartney (Turtle).

As a longtime cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Kandi Burruss is a pro when it comes to the end-of-season reunions where the entire cast comes together to reflect on all the drama. While filming on the show wrapped months ago, the reunion is taped after the episodes air. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the cast and crew were forced to film the reunion remotely — something that had never been done before.
“I felt like the reunion turned out really great, surprisingly, because I didn’t think there would be a way to do that and it be good,” Burruss told TheWrap on Wednesday. “Watching it back I was like, wow, it turned out way better than I expected.”

The season 3 finale of “The Masked Singer” saw the final three contestants unmasked on a dramatic night which delivered big numbers for Fox.
A total of 8.7 million viewers tuned in for last night’s un-masking extravaganza, which represents the show’s largest audience since April 1, and its third largest of the season overall (also behind the Super Bowl episode which drew 24 million viewers). Ratings-wise, the finale scored a 2.3 among adults 18-49, beating the season 2 finale in both metrics. The series premiere of “Ultimate Tag” followed that with a 1.3 rating and 4.6 million total viewers, a decent debut for the J.J. Watt-hosted show.
Over on CBS, the season 3 finale of “S.W.A.T.” came in with a season-high 0.7 rating and 4.8 million total viewers. For comparison, the season 2 finale scored a 0.9 rating and 1 million more viewers. Replays of “NCIS” and “FBI” both scored a 0.5 and an averaged of 4.7 million viewers in the two hours prior.

Warning, spoilers follow! Yes, the Night Angel won and was unmasked as The Real Housewives of Atlanta star and Xscape member Kandi Burruss. In a remote interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kandi told host Ellen DeGeneres she has been pursued for the show in the first season, but couldn't participate due to other commitments. Kandi Burruss made history when she became the first woman to win “The Masked Singer” on Wednesday’s finale. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter took down the Turtle (Jesse McCartney) and the Frog (Bow Wow) to win the Season 3 title and the coveted Golden Mask trophy. Panelists Jenny McCarthy and Robin Thicke both correctly guessed her identity, but Ken Jeong incorrectly named actress Tisha Campbell as the Night Angel while Nicole Scherzinger thought it was “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson. Watch the Night Angel’s performance of “River Deep, Mountain High” by Tina Turner above.
“It feels incredible!” exclaimed Burruss when host Nick Cannon asked her how it felt to become the first woman to win. “For a long time I really stopped singing by myself. You get negative feedback so it kind of messes with your head. I had really stopped and I really appreciate you guys for helping me build my confidence back up.

Talk about prescient: “The Masked Singer” was all about covering up before masks were cool… or mandatory. “It’s the safest show if you’re a celebrity,” quips executive producer Craig Plestis. “We give you masks. It’s a little bit the tagline we’re using: Protect you protect your identity and your health.”
Now, as Season 3 of “The Masked Singer” ends its run with a two-night finale on Tuesday and Wednesday night, the world is in a very different place than it was when the season began back in February.
“I think the Masked Singer weathered the storm of this pandemic but also kind of kept America together a little bit,” Plestis tells Variety. “I really believe Masked Singer was this respite for an hour out of all the trauma that everyone is going through. This is the time we can bond with everyone that’s in the house right now.

“The Masked Singer” unmasked and eliminated another contestant on this week’s episode, the final one ahead of the Season 3 finale next week. That competitor was the Rhino, who turned out to be former professional baseball player Barry Zito. And though the former Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants ballplayer has also had a music career, he is primarily known for his time in the Mlb. He said he’s “just as shocked as anybody” that he made it to “The Masked Singer” semifinals.
“I learned in my baseball career that setting goals is great, but being a little too obsessed with results can put me in a dark place. I know that about myself,” Zito told TheWrap. “So my only goal going in was to truly enjoy the experience and not be too caught in winning or being first place.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for tonight’s episode of “The Masked Singer.”)
“The Masked Singer” revealed which of Season 3’s four remaining contestants will be moving on to next week’s finale on Wednesday’s semifinals episode, an hour that ended with the unmasking of Rhino.
During the episode, titled “A Day in the Mask: The Semi-Finals,” Frog, Rhino, Turtle and Night Angel all performed. Following the four contestants’ latest attempts to stump the judges, it was time for “Masked Singer” panelists Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, and Robin Thicke, along with guest panelist Jay Pharoah and the studio audience, to choose one competitor for elimination.
They picked Rhino, who had performed Tim McGraw’s “Humble and Kind.” He was unmasked and revealed to be former baseball player and musician Barry Zito. Before his identity was given away, the judges did guess that Rhino might be Zito — but also Trace Atkins,...

At one point during tonight's episode of The Masked Singer, Nicole Scherzinger joked that there were 47 contestants this season. If no one had corrected her, we would have been perfectly ready to accept that as the truth. It feels like this season was never ending, and the contestants just kept coming. In reality there were only 18, but still. It felt like a lot, and finally, we are nearly at the end. The reveal of the Rhino in tonight's episode means we're down to just three more masked singers: Turtle, Frog, and Night Angel. We feel fairly sure we know who the final three are and the judges are with us on two of them, but that could mean anything at this point. Tonight, we were...

One contestant will be eliminated the end of Wednesday’s semi-finals round of “The Masked Singer,” leaving only three still in the running to win the Golden Mask. According to Gold Derby’s predictions, the Final 3 will be the Night Angel, the Frog and the Turtle. That means, sadly, the Rhino will be eliminated in fourth place and forced to remove his horned mask in front of America. Do you agree or disagree with our readers’ odds? Go ahead and make your predictions before the Wednesday, May 13 episode.

There are three Masked Singer episodes left in Season 3: Do you have your guesses locked down yet?
If not, no worries. All season long, TVLine has been paying rapt attention to every episode and clocking every clue, then compiling them into the gallery below. And not to toot our own masked horn, but we’ve been right about pretty much every outgoing contestant this season (though we admit, that Sarah Palin one was a Hail Mary of a guess that just happened to pan out).

“The Masked Singer” has only been around for three seasons, but already an unfortunate pattern is emerging: women are being shut out of the top positions. So far we’ve had two male winners in T-Pain (Season 1’s Monster) and Wayne Brady (Season 2’s Fox), as well as two male runners-up in Donny Osmond (Season 1’s Peacock) and Chris Daughtry (Season 2’s Rottweiler). To compare, the most successful females on Fox’s wild and wacky reality TV show both had to settle for third place: Gladys Knight (Bee) the first year and Adrienne Bailon (Flamingo) the second year.

Jenny McCarthy earned bragging rights as the only panelist on “The Masked Singer” to guess model and social media star Jordyn Woods was hiding inside the Kangaroo costume on Wednesday night’s episode. “Jenny is good,” Woods expressed after pulling off her mask. “I was shook! You guys were really off every week, but this time you got it.” Watch her performance of “No Air” by Jordin Sparks above.
The other panelists weren’t wise enough to listen to McCarthy’s reasoning and ended up being wrong once again. Ken Jeong made his weekly abysmal guess, this time touting that “So You Think You Can Dance” host Cat Deeley was the Kangaroo. Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger weren’t too far off base, guessing La La Anthony and Blac Chyna, respectively. Guest panelist Yvette Nicole Brown thought it was Ayesha Curry, wife of NBA star Stephen Curry.
