Hangin on the #TheFlash set w/@jarpad .. Hey @grantgust how do u get any work done with all these rules? #NeedNaps pic.twitter.com/nxcspxDHEQ - Jensen Ackles (@JensenAckles) August 8, 2016 Ever wonder what happens when you leave Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles alone on set? On Monday, Jensen answered that very important question when he uploaded a clip of the two Supernatural stars napping and eating while recently visiting the set of The Flash. While it may seem harmless enough, Jensen quickly notices two signs behind them that read "No sleeping on set!" and "No food on set!" Clearly, they're tired from all the filming they've been doing for their hit show. To fully appreciate the hilarious moment, watch the clip above, then fawn over these cute pics of them together. Fun times. #SPNFamily https://t.co/3luSCPYZVs - Jared Padalecki (@jarpad) August 9, 2016 Related Stories: Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki...

A furious slew of titles in the works would seem to prophesize a robust main competition slate for Cannes 2016. Though our initial list will eventually be pruned down as the year progresses (Berlin may snag something in here, especially if their 2016 lineup looks anything like their landmark selection from this past January), we’re confident that we will be seeing another round of heavy hitting auteurs unveiling their latest bits on the Croisette.
Absent from the main competition in 2015 were the Romanians (Muntean and Porumboiu were assigned to Un Certain Regard) and any trace of Latin filmmakers. The 2016 edition looks to make up for lost ground. For the Romanians, a couple heavy hitting titans from the New Wave will be ready. Cristi Puiu, who previously won Ucr in 2005 with The Death of Mr. Lazarescu should hopefully be getting a competition invite for Sierra Nevada. Meanwhile, previous Palme d’Or winner...

DreamWorks Animation has announced that it has appointed two veteran producers, Bonnie Arnold and Mireille Soria, as co-presidents of feature animation. In their new roles, Arnold and Soria, respectively the lead producers behind the studio’s How to Train Your Dragon and Madagascar franchises, will oversee creative development and production for DreamWorks Animation’s theatrical releases. Between them, they have produced eight films at DreamWorks that have grossed more than $3.5 billion globally. As part of this transition, chief creative officer Bill Damaschke will step down from his position.
“Mireille and Bonnie are two of the most accomplished and prolific filmmakers working in feature animation today,” said DreamWorks Animation Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Katzenberg. “I am confident in their ability to marshal the extensive creative resources available at our studio and lead DreamWorks’s vast ranks of artists and filmmakers as they produce the highest quality entertainment.”

It happens quickly -- discomfort in a public place -- and it is a very effective element to control, as you will experience with the work of Carrie Mae Weems. Early on in the exhibition at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Carrie Mae Weems: Three Decades of Photography and Video, Weems confronts her audience with her Aint Jokin’ series from 1987-88. Here she combines images and text that project racial stereotyping with works such as "Black Woman with Chicken" [left] and "Black Man Holding Watermelon." In another piece nearby we see a vintagepolitical drawing of Abraham Lincoln looking a bit disheveled, seated in a room filled with props and papers positioned above the question: What Did Lincoln Say After A Drinking Bout?. The answer-box nearby reveals: I Freed The What?. The exposure to this, and other bits of appropriated hurtful humor will surely prompt an uncomfortable feeling in most...

For a guy that seems to like to blow shit up real good when he's putting pen to paper or keyboard to Final Draft, ("Cowboys & Aliens," "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," "Star Trek," "Mission: Impossible III") Alex Kurtzman really appears to be going out of his way to make himself an antidote for that work with his directorial debut.
Titled "People Like Us," the family drama centers on a man who is tasked with delivering $150,000 of his deceased father's fortune to the sister he has never met. Starring Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks, Olivia Wilde, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Hall D'Addario with support by Philip Baker Hall, Jon Favreau and Mark Duplass, all one needs to do is take a quick look at the campaign to see that the film is chasing a very different audience than his previous fanboy driven efforts (see the recent promos aimed at Mother's Day).

There has been no shortage of cartoon cats in the last 100 years. Whether in comic strips or animated form, cartoon cats have been a traditional part of our culture for decades. It started with Felix the Cat in 1919. Felix became the first cartoon character to cross over into the mainstream and grew to be a pop culture phenomenon. Many cats have made their mark in cartoons since Felix. Sylvester, Tom, Mr. Jinx, Top Cat, Heathcliff and a host of other cartoon felines have made us laugh over the years. In 1978, we were introduced to another cat who would go on to become one of the most popular ever; created by Jim Davis, Garfield appeared in his first comic strip in June of that year and he's been going strong ever since.
In 2007, the Garfield strip won a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the most widely syndicated comic strip on Earth,...

HollywoodNews.com: “Toy Story 3″ ended its first weekend with $109 million, setting a record for Pixar and the month of June. While it is merely the second-biggest opening weekend for an animated film (behind “Shrek the Third’s” $122 million) and the 10th-biggest opening of all-time, it is far and away the biggest opening weekend in Pixar history (“Finding Nemo” and “The Incredibles” both opened with $70 million). Of course, since the second-biggest June opening weekend (“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”), the fifth-biggest ‘part 3′ opening (“Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith”), and the third-biggest animated opening (“Shrek 2″) both scored a bit over $108 million over their debut weekends, “Toy Story 3″ will have to hope that the estimate holds water come tomorrow or risk losing ground in those respective record books.
Truth be told, I’m a little disappointed in the number, when you factor in the $41 million opening day.
