Certainly watchable, mainly because of the great film clips -- from obscure films like Wild Boys of the Road (1933) to high profile films like DeMille's 1956 version of The Ten Commandments. (Spends a little too much time on a few movies, though.)
Scorsese's comments are interesting and some are right-on. But of course, as he himself mentions, it's hard to do justice to all the directors and films made in the last 100 plus years (he does mention the definitive documentary on movies -- "Hollywood.")
