This movie was originally intended to be Godzilla vs. GhostGodzilla where Godzilla will fight the ghost of the original one. TOHO then changed its mind because the last two movies had Godzilla in the enemy's name (MechaGodzilla and SpaceGodzilla). TOHO decided to bring back the Oxygen Destroyer to fight Godzilla instead of the GhostGodzilla. másQuotes:

The most moving and thrilling of all Godzilla films, with a solid plot, smooth acting, moving music, and emotional drama. I enjoyed this movie. There is one thrilling scene in which I liked, the part when Yukari gets trapped in the police car with Destoroyah pursuing her. The part when Miki breaks down and cry when Godzilla Junior laid lifeless on the ground almost reduced me to tears. I really despise Destoroyah, after all the damaged he'd done. Godzilla should of melted that ugly arachnid. A must see for all
