Anacronismos: In one scene Gunny watches King Kong (1933) and is terrified by a scene in which Kong munches on one of the natives. That scene was deleted from the original theatrical release and not restored until the 1970s (Three Wishes takes place in 1955).

This is a heart-warming, nice family film with a great cast!

If somebody had told me the story of Three Wishes in advance, I think I would have said "Seems a bit brief to make a movie out of it.". But despite that it is such a great movie! It's the actors, the atmosphere and the beautiful colors - in a sweet little story with heart and something to learn - that makes you feel good all the time. At the end I was sorry that this story didn't become a longer movie for I already felt like home in that small village of the fifties. The best thing to watch with the whole family on a late afternoon.
