  • Dimitri and Anya share a long kiss at the end. Moments later, Bartok gets kissed by a female bat.
  • Sophie is a bit flirtatious.
  • In one scene Anastasia wears a strapless evening gown.

Violence & Gore

  • Anastasia slaps Dimitri across the face at least three different times, though only once was intentional.
  • Rasputin is seen drowning in the beginning of the movie after chasing the young Anastasia. After that, at the end of the movie, he appears to melt down to his skeleton, which then crumbles into dust and blows away with the wind.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Dimitri and others have champagne at their table (but don't drink any) in a Parisian musical number. In a song Vladimir sings about a man loving vodka. People are seen smoking on the streets of Paris and one of the women hoping to pose as Anastasia is holding a cigarette holder with a smoldering cigarette in it.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • During the scene where Rasputin sells his soul, his flesh is consumed and he's left nothing but a live skeleton, though his form is returned when he's given possession of the reliquary.
  • Rasputin has a reliquary that has a green, glowing substance inside as well as a snake running around the outside, and a human skull on the top. Small winged demons repeatedly come out of it.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Anya hands Dimitri a lit stick of dynamite that he uses to uncouple a locomotive from a baggage car. After the three jumped from the train, the locomotive and baggage car fall through a broken bridge, crash onto the ground below, and then break apart and explode.
  • Rasputin attempts to kill Anastasia by crushing the bridge using the dark forces. Anastasia ends up destroying his key to the spirits, which disintegrates Rasputin, destroying his insides and releasing plenty of blood before he turns into bones that turn to dust.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Near the end, Anastasia brutally kills Rasputin by crushing his reliquary. A huge fireball comes from the sky and it obliterates Rasputin, completely liquefying all of his internal organs and causing his skin to melt. His eyeballs fall out, as a large pool of blood forms on the ground and ultimately, his skeleton violently and disturbingly twitches and thrashes uncontrollably before turning to dust.
  • In a scene where Anya is acting out an enchanted dream, she nearly jumps off a ship to her death. Dimitri saves her at the last second.
