- Early in the film a wildebeest is shown to be in pain, after it collapses it is revealed it has been shot we see a bullet hole.
- Hamegg and his crew tear up the forest several animals are shown to be injured during this scene, latter we see some of them being patched up.
- Several animals are sick with a plague
- Hamegg shoots a rhino, it dies onscreen, he is promptly attacked by Leo after this though he is not seriously wounded.
- During the climb up the mountain several of the explorers die by falling off the cliffs, one also dies by drowning in a swamp.
