Storyline
Plot Summary |
In 1821 Old California, mysterious black-caped masked avenger of the oppressed, Don Diego de la Vega--Zorro--lands in jail after once again humiliating the evil Spanish governor Don Rafael Montero. With his only daughter raised by Don Rafael as his own, the grizzled swordsman makes a daring escape nearly two decades later, and takes under his wing the unrefined outlaw Alejandro Murietta to teach him the ropes and hopefully become the next Zorro. Now, the stage is set for a ferocious final confrontation, as the new young rapier-wielder prepares to thwart the despicable governor's sinister plans. Can Alejandro live up to legendary Zorro's name? Written by Nick Riganas |

Did You Know?
Trivia | At the end, when Zorro confronts Captain Love, he pulls out his sword, and the sun glints off the blade running the full length. This was not CGI, and was suggested by Antonio Banderas. He had to tilt the sword to catch the sun without breaking eye contact with Matt Letscher. It only took three takes. See more » |
Goofs | At the mine, the wagon is shown filled with gold. Given the dimensions of the bars since gold is heavy each bar would weigh between 25 and 30 pounds. This would mean that the amount of gold in the wagon would weigh between five and six tons, much more than that type wagon could carry. See more » |

Quotes |
Elena:
[in a confessional, Alejandro posing as a priest]
I have broken the fourth commandment, padre. Alejandro Murrieta: You killed somebody? Elena: No, that is not the fourth commandment. Alejandro Murrieta: [pause] Of course not. Tell me, in what way did you break the most sacred of commandments. Elena: I dishonored my father. Alejandro Murrieta: That is not so bad. Maybe your father deserved it. Elena: What? Alejandro Murrieta: I said tell me more, my child. See more » |
