Removed from the context of its predecessor, it ain't a bad b-movie.
pickman9 May 2002
The special effects really do suck and the actors aren't first string, however fans of cheesy horror movies shouldn't be discouraged from checking this flick out. This is genuinely stylish with some ambitious camera work and some nice art direction touches. I think the director and the cinematographer might have been having a contest to see who could come up with the wierdest pov shot while they were shooting the picture. Also there are a few moments that are funny and border upon being clever. The porno film massacre scene had me chuckling when the donut guy got blown away. I also liked the opening Bruce Cambell(Hail to the King!) and Tiffany-Amber Thiessen elevator scene. The important thing with this movie is to forget about the first one. The first one was a kinetic, over the top, vamp slaughter-fest that was fun but hardly horror. This movie is not great, but still has the elements of a real low-budget horror movie aspiring to be something better.

one word...... terrible
Shu-518 October 1999
This movie was horrible. I couldn't believe how bad it was. I was expecting a great sequel to a great movie. But, I didn't get that. All I got was a terrible sequel with terrible acting, and terrible directing. Now don't get me wrong, I loved From Dusk till Dawn. In fact it's my favorite movie. But this can't even be compared to the first. It shouldn't even be associated with the first. Granted it didn't have the superb directing of Tarantino and Rodriguez, or the acting of Clooney, Tarantino, and Kietel. Bruce Campbell and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen were the only thing that made me keep watching. But they appeared for what, a whole five minutes. In fact I can't believe that Tarantino or Rodriguez had anything to do with this movie. Scott Spiegel, who is that?. Sorry Scott, your movie was TERRIBLE.

Inferior and disconcerting sequel with a lot of frantic action , chills , blood and gore
ma-cortes23 May 2020
Ridiculous and absurd following to ¨From dusk to Dawn¨ 1995 by Robert Rodriguez who here produces, in which a bunch of delinquents led by Buck (Robert Patrick) and other partners-in-crime as (Duane Whitaker who also wrote playing Luther , Harrelson , among others, Raymond Cruz , Muse Watson, among others) decide to knock over a bank in Mexico , then things go awry . However , the team unwittingly come into contact with the vampire denizens of the Titty twister bar and soon join the ranks of the undead , taking place the usual carnage . Along the way , a police officer (Bo Hopkins) and his underlings go after them.

Direct-to-video sequel , it is a below-average follow-up , quickly made , being set two weeks the first film's massacre . This gory vampire movie contains thrills , chills , plot twists , brief doses of humor , gore and guts as well as go-for-broke action set pieces. As the protagonists suffering the bite put on them , except for Buck who flees and manages to avoid momentarily the ordinary slaughter with lots of blood and gore. There are sympathetic and snappy dialogues but with no much sense and full of profanities and bad taste . The motion picture was lousily written and directed by Scott Spiegel. Rating : 3.5/10 , this one is the worst film of the saga . Below average .Only for ¨From dusk till dawn¨ saga followers and completists.

The saga is formed by the following ones : From Dusk to dawn 1995 by Robert Rodriguez with George Clooney , Quentin Tarantino , Harvey Keitel , Juliette Lewis , Fred Williamson , Salma Hayek . From dusk till dawn 2 : Texas Blood Money 1999 by Scott Spiegel with Tiffani Amber Thiessen , Bruce Campbell , Robert Patrick , Danny Trejo , Bruce Campbell , Muse Watson , Duane Whitaker , Raymond Patrick . From dusk till dawn 3 : the handman's daughter 3 , 1999 , with Michael Parkas , Rebecca Gayheart , Sonia Braga , Marco Leonardi , Temuera Morrison , Ara Celi Danny Trejo . And TV series 2014-2016 created by Robert Rodriguez , Robert Kurtzman with DJ Cotrona , Eliza Gonzalez , Jesse Garcia , Jake Busey.

Not nearly as bad as people say it is
Deviant-79 June 1999
After hearing countless people tell me how crappy this movie is, and after reading tons of reviews that make it sound totally unbearable, I decided to watch it myself. You know what? They are all wrong. Most of the movie is at LEAST average direct-to-video work. Of course it isn't as good as the original, but this movie was just as gory, more action-packed, and had some very funny moments (they watched Mexican porno for a VERY long time in that motel room). I was not disappointed watching this movie, because I didn't take it seriously. I suggest you relax and give it a try, you'll laugh at how funny they tried to make this a good movie.

Where From dusk till Dawn 1 succeeds, from dusk till dawn 2 fails
Daewonnepon18 September 2001
From dusk till Dawn is a great movie, and with this sequel I thought it would be at least good as well. But the movie wasn't even close.

Where in part 1 the switch in genre from action to horror is successfully made, there isn't any switch at all in part 2!

Part 2 is to me a very bad horror movie. It's nothing compared to part 1.

It will leave an impression
Freddy_Boy15 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Regardless if you like it or hate it I'm pretty sure this movie will leave an impression.

This is the kind of movie that leave you befuddled not knowing whether you should laugh or cry.

Horror sequences are predictable yet utterly stupid. There are major gaps in the plot. One of the more obvious being the main plot: Going to Mexico to rob a bank. It's basic movie trivia that you commit a crime and then you go to Mexico to escape the long arm of the law.

The dialog makes clumsy attempts at being clever, Tarantino-ish if you will. Unfortunately it all just falls flat. Tarantino has an odd gift for allowing actors to fluently deliver the dialogue no matter how cliché it might be. This lacks here. Instead just about every sentence spoken sounds contrived and forced.

Action sequences are horrendous. Vampires and cops alike line up in order to die in a gruesome manner. We're talking really lining up. Not in the sense that everybody dies but in the sense that there seems to be a veritable queue. The camera focuses, slightly off-focus on one killing, then moves on the next.

I think this movie is a bit of a hit and miss. I got the sense that they tried to create something and failed miserably. If you watch it, try to think of it as a movie that doesn't try to be anything. That way you at least won't have any expectations of it.

In the end however this movie is probably best remained unseen.

From Dusk Till Dawn 2? Is that how long I slept?
spareribs14 March 1999
A friend of mine got me a copy of this movie and I must say I was psyched. Bad idea. The second I put it in, I saw what looked to me like a made for TV movie. Then a smile returned to my face when I saw Bruce Campbell. Once again the smile left my face when Tiffany Amber Thiessan begins screaming as Bruce gets his head bit off by obvious rubber bats.

Bored yet? I was. For a movie that had so much potential it lost it. The movie was loaded with horrible special effects, bad directing, a medium which looked like Digital made for TV, and bad acting on everbody's part. Was the director trying to spoof eighties camp horror flicks or is he really that stupid when it comes to scaring people?

There was only one pleasing thing about the movie and that was a great line said by Robert Patrick.

In short - if you just want to see Robert Patrick or Bruce Campbell, rent it. Actually, if you're a movie buff and you like to analyze all movies, see it. But if you are the average fair weather film goer - stay away.

Horrible directing, acting, and FX. Why Quentin, why?
jefe51507 May 1999
This was one of the most horrible movies I have ever seen. I never thought it was possible to over direct, but Scott Spiegel somehow pulls it off. Every shot is made to look like the coolest shot ever done but they are not even close. The shots from inside the vampires mouths' are an incompetent attempt at trying to be cool. The acting was mediocre, but the script sucked (thanks again to Spiegel) and the FX were disastrous. Why Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino associate themselves with this movie is mind boggling. No wonder this movie went strait to video. If you ever want to see an example of what not to do see this movie. And finally what in the wide wide world of sports did the scene with Tiffany Amber-Theissen have to do with any thing? It was pointless and a waste of time. Overall the movie sucked.

Pure B-movie fun
Leofwine_draca11 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This straight-to-video sequel to the surprise cinema hit of '96 is a lot better than I had heard and expected. Sure, it's just a rehash of the original film done on a much smaller scale (and lower budget, obviously), but what this film may lack in money and originality it more than makes up for in pacing and almost non-stop action. It's definitely a tongue-in-cheek cross between comedy and horror, a fact which some reviewers seem to have missed, and is pretty enjoyable on a dumb-but-fun scale.

Director Scott Spiegel first cut his teeth by assisting with some of the EVIL DEADs back in the '80s, before making his debut with the incredibly gory slasher movie INTRUDER. Here, we find out that Spiegel hasn't progressed as a director (as has his pal Sam Raimi) in the twelve-odd years since then, as basically he uses exactly the same kind of comic-book style as in that movie. Spiegel's penchant is for bizarre camera angles, so we witness things occurring from behind moving fans, from the point of view of a man doing press-ups, from the mouth of a vampire, from the bottles of barrels and glasses, and lots more besides. Far from being annoying and over-the-top (well, maybe over-the-top) as some reviewers would have you think, these dodgy camera angles are the highlights of the film for me; at least they're somewhat original and make the film more fun and interesting to watch. You can just imagine Spiegel trying to work out where he can place the camera next...

The contrived plot is tenuously linked to the original film by having a brief scene set in the bar (seemingly rebuilt after the slaughter that occurred there before), and also a cameo appearance from that vampire barman Danny Trejo, who sets the plot in motion. Don't be fooled into thinking that Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino had anything to do with this film, as they didn't; being executive producers, all they had to do was let Siegel use the rights of the film so that they could get a cut of the money. That's their achievement over with.

The cast is familiar only to those who enjoy similar B-movies and straight-to-video releases. The noticeably ageing Robert Patrick is surprisingly pretty good as the lead, especially considering the slumming level of some of his performances in the past decade. Bo Hopkins plays the town sheriff, and could well be playing exactly the same character he did in MUTANT fifteen years previously; did someone mention typecasting? Also of interest are some brief cameos from Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and Bruce Campbell, who star in a movie playing on television (!) at the very beginning of the film, and are bitten to death by a flying swarm of vampire bats.

These bats lead me on to the special effects in this film. They are cheap, yes, but they're also enjoyable on a B-movie level. The bats themselves are purely CGI, and are pretty well done; not in the least bit realistic, but then they don't have to be for a comic-book film like this. The vampires look less like aliens this time around, more like actors with prosthetic appliances, contact lenses, and false teeth, and of course we don't get to see any fancy morphings either. Saying this, the vampire deaths - where they dissolve into skeletons - are suitably grotesque and gruesome, and highly reminiscent of the end of the first EVIL DEAD. The blood and violence level is relatively high but not disturbing, more splattery in the style of BRAINDEAD, with severed heads bouncing around and the like.

After a fairly nondescript two-thirds, this film suddenly kicks into high-gear at the end with a showdown between the majority of the Mexican police force and the four vampire bank robbers, with Patrick caught in the middle. Here, seemingly endless amounts of bullets are fired, loads of vehicles explode, and people are slaughtered wholesale. Pretty damn impressive on the low budget this film has, and it almost comes close to a similar scene in TERMINATOR 2 on which it models itself. In fact, this finale is highly entertaining and packed with action, flying stuntmen and other cheesiness. While FROM DUSK TILL DAWN 2: Texas BLOOD MONEY never rises above the level of a B-movie, it's undeniably enjoyable entertainment that contains a tongue-in-cheek approach sometimes lacking in movies today. Fans of EVIL DEAD II and similar efforts should have a field day. Yes, this is a bad film, but it's a damned good bad film that never becomes boring!

If you liked the first movie... Avoid this piece of crap
CoZMaCHiNE21 July 2002
I really liked the first movie. It was cool, it was violent and the twist was really fun and unexpected. This movie is nothing like it. Fact is that this movie just stinks. Please do me a favor, if you're thinking of renting this movie, think again. The very uncool camera angles and quotes like "Come here you sexy bitch" just makes you think that the movie is made by some sort of primate with the brain the size of a peanut.

A Cult Classic To Me,One Of The Most Quotable Films Of The 90's For Me. Big Nostalgic Love For This Film.
lukem-5276024 August 2018
First off yes i loved the first film, but this bank robbing vampire Horror B-movie is exactly what it wants to be & that's a trashy sleazy Low rent action Horror sequel set within the From Dusk Till Dawn universe set up by Robert Rodriguez & Quentin Tarantino!!!

This sleazy low-rent direct-to-video sequel is a damn blood-soaked Masterpiece in my eyes. After i got an ex-rental video of Texas Blood Money i literally watched it every night that summer. I miss those times, the beautiful easy-going 90's & early 2000's, a time when video stores ruled. Honestly Texas Blood Money is one of my all-time favourite films, a film that is ridiculously entertaining & ridiculously quotable, hilarious & action-packed. A pure B-movie delight. The music is Awesome, the cinematography is excellent in all it's low-budget colourful quality & it's a damn good Crime Thriller & an Action Horror movie all at the same time. The camera movement's & angles are mind-blowing, ridiculously creative for a small flick like this.

Texas Blood Money gives me big Nostalgia as when i think about this horror thriller classic i think of hot summer nights & up late watching this constantly on video.

Robert Patrick was cemented as my favourite B-movie actor after this flick & is genuinely one of my all-time faves anyway. Texas Blood Money boasts Patrick's best movie character ever with Buck. Blood Money is a time capsule for me, a piece of Awesome late-night entertainment that i was obsessed with for years & still it's one of my favourite movies of all-time. I actually prefer this rough & ready cheap sequel to the Classic first film. Veteran character actor Danny Trejo (Anaconda, Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Machete) is great once again & the whole cast is pure B-movie greatness even including Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead Trilogy) & Muse Watson (I Know What You Did Last Summer 1&2, The Last Exorcism part 2) & Raymond Cruz (Alien Resurrection, Gremlins 2, Clear & Present Danger, The Substitute, The Rock) & Duane Whitacker (Pulp Fiction) & Bo Hopkins (Mutant, Nightmare at Noon) a decent cast of great "Character Actor's" Bo Hopkins is excellent as Sheriff Otis Lawson & starred in the very similar movie Nightmare at Noon.

Texas Blood Money stinks of style & filled with frantic bloody action sequences & so much Cool dialogue. My favourite Vampire film too. To me Texas Blood Money is the perfect Cult movie. Major Nostalgic love this fun film.

This came out in the late 90s when i was obsessed with anything Horror & was always watching the Evil Dead films & Tales from the Crypt & Demon Knight & From Dusk Till Dawn & Romero's Dead films & so much more so Texas Blood Money fit into my Horror obsessed world perfectly at the perfect time & i was in love with this dirty & dusty action Horror.

Texas Blood Money is not a mega budget movie with shiny stars, oh hell no it's a blood soaked action packed Vampire Horror flick & at that it's absolutely excellent, that's thanks to it's extremely creative Director Scott Spiegel who has worked with Sam raimi on his evil dead films, among other stuff in the Horror genre so scott knows crazy bloody Horror.

Texas Blood Money was a film i watched hundreds of times when i had it new on ex-rental video, it was a late night movie that i loved just as much as the classic first film!!!

It's ridiculously underrated & yet it's so much fun & action packed. Buck Bowers, played by the excellent but underrated Robert Patrick is my favourite character in the From Dusk Till Dawn franchise/universe, Patrick is an excellent B-movie action hero just like Ron Perlman, Robert Forster, William Sadler & Tom Atkins among others!!! He has a great screen presence & is a very good underrated actor!!!

Robert Patrick is one of my all-time top 6 fave actors along with: Will Smith. James Belushi. William Sadler, Roy Scheider & Robert Forster.

I was obsessed with the first From Dusk Till Dawn so when my big bro came home one day with Texas Blood Money that he had just rented i was so excited & it lived up to that excitement & then some!!!

My mind was blown even more so when the legend "BRUCE CAMPBELL" came into it at the beginning, yes it was just a small cameo but my god it was so awesome to see "ASH" here lol as i was a mega Evil Dead nut too.

Robert Patrick was Excellent in this gruesome sequel as Buck the main robber & i was a huge fan of his from alot of his low budget straight to video action films, he made an excellent & rare lead. The whole cast of robbers are all excellent in their roles especially, "Raymond Cruz" as "Jesus" that guy is another underrated gem of an actor!!! The music is Fantastic throughout this action packed Horror & fits perfectly into the cool as hell criminal world created by "Tarantino" & "Rodriguez" in the classic first movie.

This excellent sequel is ridiculously underrated, it's a gem in my opinion & i have as much love for this film as i do the first!!!

Robert Patrick is excellent & you want him to survive & the vampire fx are amazing even though this is a low budget straight to video movie!!!

This is also action packed & funny as hell too just watch the motel scene with the gang hanging out watching porn lol great fun.

This fun Horror Thriller has a nice blend of humour & violent vampire action & has that low budget sleazy feel of those late 80's early 90's straight video thrillers & i love that about this flick & the clever camera angles & shots are fantastic by director Scott Spiegel.

Texas Blood Money is perfect late night entertainment with action & humour.

Robert Patrick created a great character in Buck Bowers & my favourite of the franchise.

Robert Patrick comes accross as a sort of Clint Eastwood or James Dean type of rugged Flawed anti-hero in how he looks & just how damn cool he is.

Buck is even way better than Seth (Clooney) in the classic first film as With seth he was acting tough & hard all the time & being mouthy to the point of being abit of an idiot lol but still a cool character but got nothing on Buck Bowers as with Buck he didn't have to constantly act hard he was more smarter & aware of what's going on around him instead of mouthing off & being loud.

Another good thing about Buck is the fact although he's a robber a criminal he's not evil he still has a moral code as seen when he's distressed at Luther killing the bank guard as he knows that was completely unnecessary & wrong & would only bring them more trouble!!!

Also Buck is a quiet observer & came to the conclusion that his team of robbers are now vampires himself.

Although he's a tough criminal he's still willing to believe in the supernatural.

Buck Bowers is a great Horror genre character who i wish we saw more of in another Dusk Till Dawn movie but it obviously never happened but i did write some fan fiction for him when i was young & was watching From Dusk Till Dawn 2 on video every night & i tried to carry on his story after he got away in the car with all the money so yeah I'm a huge fan of the basically/really just a throwaway straight to video character but Robert Patrick elevated the character off the page & made him rugged & smart & Cool as hell so i love Patrick for his performance as Buck & made me a life long fan since.

Maybe i looked way to into his character & maybe it was just luck he came accross so cool & maybe was never intentional but either way Buck Bowers stood out to me way above most Horror movie characters & became a great to me just like Bruce Campbell as Ash from the Evil Dead franchise & Tom Atkins as Dan Challis from Halloween 3 season of the witch.

Anyway i do have lots of Nostalgia for this sequel as that summer of "99 i watched this low rent vampire flick over & over & i treasure those memories being up late at night watching Robert Patrick fight vampires it was so cool.

If you can look past the low budget straight to video reputation this sequel has you will enjoy an action packed blood soaked little cult film full of humour, blood, excellent demonic vampire fx,insane camera angles, great music,a great cast & lots of fun.

Texas Blood Money is perfect late-night night entertainment.

I genuinely enjoy little B-movie Horror's like this & Texas Blood Money is one the best ever made in my opinion.

For Robert Patrick's greatest work check him out as Agent John Doggett in The X-Files series 8 & 9.

Fun Movie - But Where's The Plot?
Gislef6 March 2000
I only caught the "edited" version on Sci-Fi Channel, but must admit that I found this to be a mildly entertaining film. It takes a basic ideas (vampires robbing a bank) and goes with it and runs.

The problem is that that's really all there is, and there's not much running track. Like the original, it tries to stay "reality" grounded as a caper flick, but given this is a shorter movie, this goes on _way_ too long before you actually get to vampires.

Once we get the first guy bit by a vampire, it moves along to "vampires rob a bank" and "vampires shoot it out with police." But...that's really about it. The writers seemed to have run out of ideas, and so we just get interminable variations on these two basic ideas. There is no real climax - the vampire bad guys are subsequently interchangeable, and the only really competent one (Jesus) gets killed before the formerly-dimwitted one. The ending is just one big shootout, prolonged by a convenient solar eclipse. Which is another pointless plot point - if you want vampires to be in the darkness, just keep them in darkness and have the sun come up normally. Adding the solar eclipse does nothing here. It's stuff like this which suggests the writers didn't know quite what they were doing.

As for the Raimi-esque POV shots, a little goes a long way - something that Scott Spiegel should have learned from the master. It's kinda fun the first twenty times, but after that...

Overall, I'd recommend it if you can catch it on the cheap. It's no classic, but it's mildly amusing.

OK B-Movie, terrible plot...
swacs29 August 2000
Making a sequel to the original From Dusk Till Dawn seems impossible, and this joint shouldn't be seen as a sequel. The only things featured in the original is a few actors and nothing else. Anyways, the movie has many funny B-movie shots, overdone one would say, and it seem as if the director Scott Spiegel is tryin' too hard to make it like his friend Sam Raimi's Evil Dead films, including cameo by Bruce Campbell. The acting is pretty bad, the plot is even worse, but still there's some quite good ideas. But it's only a made-for-video film, so I didn't have any expectations at all, even though From Dusk... being one of my all-time-favorite. It's actually impressive that Tarantino & Rodriguez even wanted to executive this movie.

Check it out, I'm on my way to rent the 3rd one... Peace Out!

Awful
kismit18 March 2000
This film has essentially nothing in common with the original. Barely a B flick it was done on a shoestring budget. This would not have been fatal as the original was not exactly Waterworld but this script could have been written by a 12 year old, and in about 1 day. Shame on the creators of this dog. Assuming the goal is to make a profit from the film why did they not make any effort with the storyline? If you only have a week to shoot because it is direct to video that doesn't mean you can't find a writer to put some life into it beforehand. Take a look at Evil Dead 2 for an example of quirky low budget material that is still making money.

Terrible. None of the wit, charisma, or surprise of From Dusk Till Dawn. They should be ashamed to use the same name. Not even a good "bad" movie, and I appreciate decent "B" movies.

Horrible
jakob__haeger19 August 2003
When I saw Quentin Tarantino`s and Robert Rodriguez`s From Dusk Till Dawn I was around 12 years old. And even today I think that that movie is one off the coolest ever made.

But in 1999 I rented From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money, Directed by Scott Spiegel and written by Scott Spiegel and Actor/writer Duane Withaker.

The first film is so cool because the first half is a gangster film, and then it just changes into a vampire film. This sequel also tries to do the same thing. But it fails.

The original had George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino, Danny Trejo, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis and Salma Hayek. The most knows actor in this film is Robert Patrick from The X-files. Also the crew is nothing like the original. Tarantino and Rodriguez is Exec. porudcers, but nothing more. The man at the helm is Spiegel most known for....well nothing.

The SFX? THERE IS NO SFX. I mean the blood is so bad in the film, the could just as well used red paint.

The direction is some of the worst I`ve ever seen. The camera angels is so f***ed up. They have placed the camera inside the mouth off a vamp. The script is so bad that I laugh out loud. Some of the dialouge is so bad, it coould be of been written by a ten year old.

I mean really what can you expect from a film where the main cast consists of Robert patrick and Raimond Cruz?

0/5 - Stay away!!!!!!!!

Horrendously Bad
Foggy-719 August 1999
While the premise would make for an interesting movie, this gore fest is short on story and long on inanity. The acting is all around wooden, and the blood and guts gratuitous. In the most ridiculous plot point, a solar eclipse allows the vampires to continue attacking after sunup.

Most disappointing was touting Yasmeene Bleeth and Bruce Ashwood as stars of the movie. Both are involved in the first few minutes, as stars in a vampire movie that one of the characters in our vampire movie is watching.

The only redeeming point of the movie was the brief discussion of whether or not adult movies need a storyline. (They do.) Too bad they didn't concentrate on making a convincing storyline for this.

No one should ever mess with a Tarantino flick like they did here.
thezombieking157 August 2007
After seeing From Dusk Till Dawn, I had to see the sequel. Praying that it was as good as the original, I was poorly disappointed. This film stands alone from the first in the worst way possible. The bar from the original is now rebuilt, and looks completely different, and it's only shown for maybe a minute. Some scenes, involving some vampires (in the forms of bats) were the worst i've ever seen in a film. The amazing blend of story and amazing action from the first FDTD is completely absent here. The characters here are completely 2-dimensional, and all they do is try to swear in clever ways, which is more disturbing than fun. The only really enjoyable part of this entire movie was seeing Bruce Campbell in a funny little scene near the beginning. Watching this movie may actually RUIN the way you think about the original. Stay away unless you haven't seen the first, and still, it might be a massive waste of your time. Head to the 3rd From Dusk Till Dawn instead. it's actually fun.

Entertaining dark humorous little tribute-ish
gabriel_sanchez16 March 2021
I started watching From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999) expecting a bad movie after reading about the negative critics. I think I understand their rage, but I don't sympathize.

From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999) is about a bank heist performed by a bunch of corny criminals that might go south due to, you guessed it, vampires. In a contrast to the first movie, the criminals now intend to do a criminal act rather than run from the consequences of a criminal act.

I take this movie as a serious dark humor movie. I don't consider it a parody of the first movie or anything similar. I assume they tried to pay tribute to the second segment of the first movie and they got it right in my opinion.

If you remember the second segment of the first movie, you know it is a completely different movie compared to the first segment. The second segment is a little goofy and all over the place. From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999) ramps the goofiness and the "all over the place"-ness of that segment. It is meant to be goofy, although, serious, at the same time.

The movie's soundtrack is funny and enjoyable. It feels old and it grows on you, if, by now, you know what you are in for. Get used to the soundtrack, because it plays throughout the whole movie. Not the same score, but any shot of this movie has some bumpy music playing.

This movie features some great names. Robert Patrick. Duane Whitaker. Raymond Cruz. Even Bruce Campbell does a quick intro. And our lovely recurring Denny Trejo.

The famous bar makes a short appearance too. Only to introduce us to Denny. It goes by fast; same for Denny. Just a sparkle of nostalgia.

Overall, I think this movie is entertaining if you know what you are in for. I would definitely recommend it to some trash movie fans. I would definitely recommend it to people who like horror movies, no standards required. I would not recommend it to casual movie watchers or people wanting serious stories.

Dusk till Dawn was a fairly competent film full of everything you need in a good action flick including a bizzare twist i.e. all the locals in the bar are vampires.Dusk till dawn 2:Texas blood money though was a whole different kettle of fish.It is a poorly thought out ploy to cash in on a successful movie.Don't get me wrong i'm a huge fan of bad films and commend them if they are in any way inventive or resourcefull, this wasn't.Texas blood money also made use of annoying camera shots it persevered with every point of view shot possible. We had the shot from the pov of a man doing press-ups,we had the shot through the red eyes of a bat and to top it off the pov from a fan moving left to right.Overall it is a highly frustrating film that should never have been made, their certainly shouldn't have been a third installment.Never see this if you haven't,and if you have i feel for you and hope the counciling is going well.

the weirdest rating ever...

I don't know why, when I'm done watch this movie, I go to IMDb like usual to give my good rating for this freaking good movie and ended up shock with this rating: 4.0 (10/2/2016) and I wonder why its so low. So I digging up and they said this movie have a bad actor, mindless action and everything. I don't know what to say but I love this movie so much as how much I love the first one. I think it looks really great, with modern western style. All the vampire did a really good job here to scared me to death. Maybe because there is no George Clooney or Salma Hayek that make this movie not really popular. But in 2016, this movie looks so classic and I'm sure will be one of those rare material that's hard to be make by people in this age of 2000s. I dunno what to say but the feel, the atmosphere and the action is so good and was carefully made. If you love the first one you will love this one too. One of the best horror action from 90s. It deserved around 7-8 actually.

Trashy fun

Robert Patrick Week: Day 6

From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money is shamelessly grimy B-movie trash. The first Dusk Till Dawn flick is a chaotic horror classic, and this one takes certain ingredients from it and attempts to give it its own hard boiled heist flavour, to a certain degree of success. It's less crazy than the first, less of a horror, and unfortunately not as good a movie. It doesn't deserve the critical beatdown it's got though, and is still a rambunctious bundle of late night cable TV fun. Robert Patrick scruffily portrays Texas career criminal Buck, who gets himself a rag tag posse together to rob a backroad casino and make off with a bunch of loot. Only problem is, Razor Charlie, a straggler from the events of the first film, is hitch hiking along the highway, and turns their world upside down. We never actually see any action take place in the infamous, amusingly named Titty Twister bar, but rather a bunch of shoot em up carnage alongside dusty highways and dingy motel rooms. Hot on Buck's trail is Sheriff Otis Lawson (Bo Hopkins) who aims to bust his crew for good. Buck's crew consists of several welcome character actors including Duane Whitaker, Brett Harrelson, Muse Watson and Raymond Cruz as the grumpiest Cholo in the state. Watch out for neat little cameos from Tiffani Thiessen and Bruce Campbell as well. A healthy helping of gore, some cracking little shootouts help this one to be an albeit inferior sequel that's still enjoyable and commendable for not being a lifeless retread. Fun stuff.

an awful movie, far away from the original

From Dusk Till Dawn is a hell of a movie, but this sequel is "the awful movie of this year!" If you have a chance to do something else than watching this film, then -believe me- do it, cause that's better for you!
