Crime a Portuguesa was developed from an idea of Rogério Paulo and Orlando Costa.
It aired between July and August 1989, on Sunday night.
Recorded on film, the series sought to innovate in language, often putting the actors to speak in front of the camera.
The first episode had scenes recorded in the Escorial Restaurant, located at Rua das Portas de Santo Antão, in downtown Lisbon. In these scenes, the actress Julie Sergeant appears as an extra.
After recording three episodes in the summer of 1988 the recordings of the series were discontinued because of Rogério Paulo's disease and could only be resumed in 1989.
