Tesh is Incredible
Jazzie-too7 August 2009
I had the privilege of attending a John Tesh live concert in the early 90's at the Tower Theater in Fresno, CA. It was unreal for that time. It was an incredible production--video screens and lighting like nothing I had ever seen. And his music selections for so delightful and uplifting. Reminds me of a modern day Jason Mraz. Thank you John Tesh for such a lovely evening at the Tower Theater in Fresno. Hope you also recall this exquisite venue, (The Tower Theater) where I also saw Harry Connick, Jr., Tony Bennett, and Johnny Cash, as well as Lou Rawls and Wynton Marsalis. Tesh was one of my TOP 3 favorite shows! Original and fresh!

Yanni 'Wannabe?'
ccthemovieman-112 July 2006
I don't mean that headline to be demeaning, because John Tesh is a good man. It's just that his music and his presentation here looks like he was imitating one of Yanni's concerts, and Tesh and his musicians simply can't measure up to the quality of the Yanni. Even Tesh's soloists play the same instruments Yanni features.

Those songs in here are okay, but they don't possess Yanni's flow and beauty to them. Tesh's best work came, in my opinion, when his band played without the orchestra. His violinist, meanwhile, is too much of a ham and wears thin quickly. He interferes too much, trying to grab the spotlight too often.

The video is long and would be better edited with about 15 minutes taken out. So, too, the little kids making their noises. In all, it's still a sincere attempt at producing good music and Tesh and his band certainly put everything into it, even in the rain!
