This movie is one of the best Filipino and Lino Brocka directed movies and I think everybody will agree on it. The story is simple but so delicate and was superbly executed directing and acting wise. Definitely the best of Lino Brocka combined with the perfect acting of Ms. Nora Aunor and sterling performances of Ms. Hilda Koronel and Philip Salvador. This kind of movie should be repeatedly shown in movie theaters once in a while. This is a classic example of a movie that shows Filipino cultures and values. Those private or government organization concerned with Philippine cinema should do some actions in preserving and maintaining the quality of classic Filipino movies like this. I am not a known/distinguished film critic. I am a physician by profession but I tell you I grew up watching movies and I can tell which is a quality or not. With this movie, I am proud to say to everybody that this is a Philippine made movie. A movie made by truly talented Filipino artists.
