Ah! It seems Alpha have a "Lost Treasure of the West" series. The main feature on this one is a Jack Perrin (Bud) and Ben Corbett (Ben) 3-reeler, Rainbow Riders, in which the personable Jack helps the beautiful Virginia Brown Faire hold her ranch against invaders.
Bennett Cohen directed this one from a script by longtime western writer (128 titles), Betty Burbridge. I really love the scene in which Jack impersonates the Candy Kid.
Also on this disc are a couple of silent 2-reelers. In the Tennessee Hills (1915) stars Charles Ray who shoots the villainous landlord who literally throws his mother out into the street. Melodramatic, but it's well paced and holds the interest. Enid Markey plays the plucky heroine. The print is just watchable as is The Sheriff of Stone Gulch (1913) in which director Marshall Neilan enacts the bad guy who robs a bank and then switches clothes with hero, Pat Hartigan. The innocuous heroine is played by Ruth Roland, the serial queen. This is definitely not one of the best, or even fifth best, of her nearly forty 1913 releases.
