Although I was not enthralled with the theme of this film, China Zorilla's performance was absolutely superb! Her ability to grasp and express emotions clearly depicted the character of a very lonely, though wealthy, aristocratic lady. China so clearly portrayed the pain of a 15-year-old spirit trapped in an 80-year-old body of Mercedes that the trite theme actually worked well enough to bring the viewer into contact with those inner troubled feelings.
Leonardo Sbaraglia was also outstanding in his portrayal of a young film writer caught in the web of this woman's turbulent emotions and his own conflictual love for a music student at the university.
Alejandra Flechner portrayed the maid in a role of comic relief and compassionate attendant; and Claudio Garcia Satur's performance sealed the package that made this movie a true favorite of mine.
I recommend the movie and would have rated it 10 except for the trite theme.
