Trivialidades:
Writer 'John August' had originally intended "Go" to be a short film. The original screenplay was made up basically of the "Ronna" part of the script. The other two sections were added to explain why Simon went to Las Vegas and who Adam & Zack are. másErrores:
Errores cometidos por los personajes (posiblemente errores deliberados por los cineastas): When Ronna, Manny, and Claire play Dead Celebrities in the back room of the grocery store, Manny says that Omar Sharif is dead. He isn't. másCitas:
Stringy Haired Woman: Don't think you're something you're not. I used to have your job.Ronna: Look how far it got you.

Go (1999) is an entertaining, wild, and hip insight to several connected people in Los Angeles. Doug Liman once again proves to be a director who knows how to tell a story, or three, as realistically and cool as possible. I first saw Go on television a while back, but later bought the DVD. It's one of my favorite movies. For those of you who don't know, the movie goes like this:
Ronna (Sarah Polley) is an employee at Sons and doesn't really take her job seriously. Neither do her friends/co-workers Mannie (Nathan Bexton) and Claire (Katie Holmes). But Ronna must come up with a lot of money in order to keep her current place of residence. So she decides to start selling drugs from Todd Gaines (Timothy Olyphant), the dangerous drug dealer of her other friend Simon (Desmond Askew). Meanwhile, Simon heads off to Las Vegas with his friends Marcus (Taye Diggs), Singh (James Duval), and Tinny (Breckin Meyer). It doesn't take long for Simon to get in dangerous trouble after he steals a car with Marcus and causes a ruckus at a strip bar. Back in L.A., actors Zack (Jay Mohr) and Adam (Scott Wolf) are forced to go undercover with the extremely strange cop Burke (William Fichtner). Things take an unexpected turn for Zack and Adam when they attend dinner at Burke's house and meet his equally bizarre wife Irene (Jane Krakowski). All of the stories connect with one another.
It must be pretty hard to tell three different stories at the same time and come up with a satisfying ending. Fortunately, Liman does this perfectly. John August did a great job of writing the three stories while Liman did an even better job of showing them. The directing, writing, editing, music, and atmosphere are all right on the money.
The acting is nothing short of daring and brilliant, especially Breckin Meyer. He very well may have the funniest character in Simon's story. The funniest scene is on the way to Las Vegas where Tiny and Marcus have a big discussion concerning if Tiny is really black or not (he isn't). In Ronna's story, one of the best characters has to be Mannie. He proves this in one highly imaginative drug hallucination where he dances throughout the Sons store with another employee. Another great scene is where he talks to Todd's psycho cat. In Zack and Adam's story, William Fichtner just steals the show as Burke. All in all, everybody does a great job acting, even the people who only appear in a couple of scenes.
If you have the time and chance, definitely see Go. There's no way that you can be disappointed with this fantastic movie. I give Go an 8 out of 10.
