The plot is a parody of the Lon Chaney horror film, The Phantom of the Opera (1925) (1925). The most direct reference is the spoof of the famous unmasking scene.
The rabbit's girlfriend is a cat named Kitty. She is the (rather unsympathetic) heroine kidnapped by the Phantom.
No, Mickey Mouse is a Disney character. But the mouse that plays the drums on the conductor's fat behind looks a lot like Walt Disney's most famous creation. So does the mouse (perhaps the same one) who blows the Phantom a raspberry. And so does a third mouse, who guards the Phantom's door.
