Here's a pretty good cartoon from the period when Dave Fleischer was in charge of Columbia's cartoon production. When the Fleischer studio collapsed under the weight of too much debt and quarreling between Dave and brother Max, he looked around for a while. Columbia's cartoon production had been without an effective head since Charles Mintz's death -- Frank Tashlin came, directed and produced a few good cartoons, then left.
Fleischer's stewardship would not last much longer, but he brought in new properties like Li'l Abner, and the "fill a cartoon with lots of gags' attitude from the Fleischer organization. This one even looks like the cartoon newsreels he directed the previous decade.
