Mendelsohn's "Spring Song" gets some childish lyrics in this puerile Famous Studios Screen Song.
Back when the Fleischers were making Screen Songs, they were models of how to do this sort of cartoon right: strong performances and a collection of rapid-fire gags that appealed to me when I was five and are still a lot of fun to watch more than half a century later. However, when the series was revived in the 1940s by their successors, they had lost that adult polish. This one is filled with juvenile images. This may be appropriate for "Spring Song", but it also lacks creativity. The tropes are all derived from the Harman-Ising TO SPRING and Disney's FANTASIA. There's nothing here for anyone who's older than five.
