A word about Adele's "Skyfall," the theme of the upcoming same-named James Bond film starring Daniel Craig in his third turn as 007: Eh? The institution of the Bond theme is built on gorgeously overwrought music and ballistic emotions, and "Skyfall" feels like a drippy, austere tune with a so-so conclusion.
The best Bond themes combine five key elements: melodrama, a compelling vocal, classic James Bond appeal, a touch of the insane, and a palpable sexiness. Based on those criteria, "Skyfall" wouldn't even make a top 10 list of Bond anthems. But what would? I count down James Bond's 10 best musical triumphs (songs only, no scores) below.
10. Chris Cornell, "You Know My Name"
Melodrama: 6
Compelling Vocal: 7
Classic Bond Appeal: 8
A Touch of the Insane: 5
Sexiness: 7
Total: 33
By 2006, it'd been years since we'd heard a definitive "rock" Bond anthem, so Chris Cornell's sinister track felt like the freshest possible fit...

Neighbor
Stars: America Olivio, Christian Campbell, Lauren Rooney, Mink Stole | Written and Directed by Robert A. Masciantonio
Made in 2009 and unreleased in the UK until now, Neighbor comes from writer/director Robert A. Masciantonio, whose earlier film Cold Hearts was famous for starring former pink Power Ranger Amy Jo Johnson. This time round his lead is America Olivio, last seen in the grindhouse inspired Bitch Slap, who stars as the unnamed “neighbor” of the title who wanders the suburbs of Canada, breaking into homes and torturing their owners. Which is nice work if you can get it.
Unfortunately for bachelor Don (Campbell, who also starred in Masciantonio’s Cold Hearts) our psychotic protagonist sets her sights on him and before long he’s hogtied in his basement getting drill, stabbed and all-round mutilated by the movie reference quoting nut-job. Movie references that span the gamut from Marathon Man to Happy Gilmore!

Director Rob Masciantonio who brought us the epic gorefest that was Neighbor has given us a heads up on what's next for him. He's announced his next project will be a short film called Fairyland and has plans to submit it to Sundance this summer.
Fairlyland deals with taking characters from myths and fables and puts them in a world where Soprano-types are real. There's a Facebook page set up for the short now so head over and check it out.
Personally I've read the script and it looks like a lot of twisty fun, especially at the end of course! There will be several Neighbor alumnus joining Masciantonio on this project including Pete Postiglione, Stink Fisherand Brea Bee with Josh Bender producing and you might even get to see a "certain geek" appear in it somewhere, who knows.

The filmmaker sent along some exclusive and nasty photos (see ’em below) and info on the film, which will have its premiere at this summer’s Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal.
“Neighbor was shot in only 18 days in January and February of this year in cold Philadelphia and its suburbs,” Masciantonio tells Fango. “We had so much fun making this film, and having it debut at Fantasia is an absolute thrill. It’s going to be amazing seeing the finished product with the core audience! I hope they love our Girl as much as I do.”
Said antiheroine is played by America Olivo, who’s amassing quite a horror résumé with the Friday The 13th redux, Blood Wars and the upcoming Bitch Slap and The Last Resort.
