Only a few elements of interest in this routine Taiwanese kung fu film

Warning: Spoilers
DUEL OF FLYING KICKS is a routine Taiwanese kung fu story with a few familiar faces. Flash Legs Tan is one of the high-kicking duo who make up the film's heroes, going after a couple of corrupt officials and their endless henchmen in a fight to the death. Everything about this film screams stock and average, with poor quality filming and cheap-looking combat scenes which rob the film of its vitality.

The movie opens with bad guy regular Lung Fei playing a corrupt mayor who decides to get rid of some interfering policemen by having his men kill them. Brawling action ensues, along with some minor plotting. It comes as no surprise when that other bad guy regular, Chen Sing, shows up at the beginning and end and proves to be a master villain. Everything is by rote here, apart from one interesting interlude in a quarry filled with stilted warriors swinging their weapons in the air in a perfect bit of choreography. Oh, and there's also a random, gruesome cannibal attack. The rest is very ordinary.
