During the 1960s and 1970s in Israeli suburbs, many slums were evacuated manu military. Dozens of low-rent buildings were built in order to rehabilitate the neighborhoods. They were modelled after similar Western structures and were ill suited to the needs of Middle Eastern families. This is a criticism of standardized modern collective architecture, designed to satisfy the average man.
