NEW YORK -- Picture This Entertainment has acquired U.S. rights to the coming-of-age comedic drama Whole New Thing. The gay-themed Canadian film will have a limited release in theaters in the fall. The sophomore feature from director/co-writer Amnon Buchbinder (The Fishing Trip) centers on a 13-year-old boy (Aaron Webber) who, after years of home teaching by hippie parents, is sent to a local school. The precocious youth soon develops a crush on his promiscuous gay English teacher (played by the film's co-writer, Daniel MacIvor), leading to various complications for them and the student's family.
