Not an undiscovered masterpiece

Hal Monty was a variety turn who appeared in 2 films. He shows little talent. He goes to an army reunion and the rest of the film is a flashback to his army days. There are a lot of tunes of the times and some dreadfully unfunny slapstick. The usual sketches, the medical parade, drilling, the cookhouse, which even Frank Randle did better. Max Bygraves makes his film debut and shows the promise fullfilled on stage and tv.
