In 1944, eleven years after its original release, director Bud Pollard drastically re-cut the film, reshaping it from a horror film into a temperance film titled "John the Drunkard." Bud Pollard himself narrates this version to "fill in the gaps," as he puts it. This shortened version survives in the collection of The Library of Congress.
This film is believed lost.
This microbudget horror film was reputedly represented by a single print which was destroyed following a brief regional "road-show" distribution.
