The MCU is awaiting a breath of fresh air with its upcoming slate of films: starting with Deadpool & Wolverine. With universe hopping already a thing, fan theories keep popping up, each with varying degrees of possibility. One of them explores the plotline of Pedro Pascal’s Fantastic Four.

Starring Pascal as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, the movie is set to introduce Marvel’s first family into the MCU. However, that’s not the only thing that will debut in the Marvel movie. Fantastic Four is also on the way to bring Galactus, one of the strongest beings from Marvel comics, as the big bad in the MCU.
However, with every big villain, especially of celestial proportions, there comes a question: where were they before, and why didn’t they fight The Avengers?

Marvel Comics is home to several powerhouses. While some have immeasurable raw strength, others are more mystical in nature. We have witnessed both of these to some extent in the MCU, but the horizons of power levels have expanded way beyond our imaginations once the Infinity saga ended and the Multiverse saga began.
A still from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
We have seen glimpses of these kinds of powers in What If…? and Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. And in both of them, and even during the Infinity saga, Doctor Strange was perhaps one of the strongest characters on the roster. However, there are other kinds of forces in Marvel that can even overpower the once Sorcerer Supreme.

It’s official. Galactus is coming to the MCU.
After months of speculation, Marvel officially announced that they’ve found their Galactus. Ralph Ineson, a Game of Thrones veteran known for standout supporting roles in The Witch and The Green Knight, will portray the Devourer of Worlds. Ineson’s casting comes on the heels of other compelling announcements for its upcoming film The Fantastic Four, including Paul Walter Hauser and John Malkovich. Marvel hasn’t yet disclosed which characters those two are playing, but the smart money has Hauser down for the Mole Man. Malkovich could fit a number of characters, including minor baddies Puppet Master or Diablo, including just a grouchy official. Heck, maybe he’ll finally get to play a version of the Vulture, as he was slated to do in Sam Raimi’s abandoned Spider-Man 4!
While any of those baddies would be fun, the Galactus casting deserves the most attention.

Julia Garner is officially the new Silver Surfer. The Emmy-winning actress has been confirmed as Shalla-Bal, a different version of the popular character. Originally introduced in Silver Surfer #1 in August 1968, Shalla-Bal was the love interest of the original Silver Surfer, Norrin Radd. Despite being introduced over 50 years ago, her character has never been as relevant as Radd. Which is part of the big uproar over Marvel choosing to use Shalla-Bal over Radd. As of this writing, there’s no telling just how deep her role is. There are points when the Silver Surfer has been a hero, so

The debut of Episode 8 of ‘X-Men ’97’ marked the commencement of its three-part finale, advancing the overarching narrative while also featuring a notable cameo. Christopher Barnes’ Spider-Man made a surprise appearance following Captain America, sparking fan speculation about the integration of ‘Spider-Man ’94’ into the continuity of the new ‘X-Men ’97.’
Previously, it was established that all Marvel Animated series, while not aligned with the MCU canon, belong to the broader Marvel Animated Multiverse. This categorization holds merit, given the significant disparities between the older and newer shows, offering a logical framework for their coexistence.
After Episode 8 aired, well-known industry insider Daniel Richtman asserted that ‘Spider-Man,’ ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Silver Surfer,’ ‘Fantastic Four,’ and ‘The Incredible Hulk’ all inhabit a shared universe.

The release of ‘X-Men ’97’ Episode 8 Started the three-part finale, and of course, advanced the overall story of the show, but it also included one notable cameo. After Captain America, Christopher Barnes’ Spider-Man showed up in the show, which prompted fans to conclude that ‘Spider-Man ’94’ is truly canon to the new ‘X-Men ’97.’
It was stated a while back that all Marvel Animated shows, despite not being canon to the MCU, are part of Marvel Animated Multiverse, and that definition is truly sensible and logical, since the older shows (and by extension new shows) contradict each other in quite a lot of ways.
Now following the release of episode 8, notable industry insider Daniel Richtman stated that ‘Spider-Man’, ‘Iron Man,’ ‘Silver Surfer,’ ‘Fantastic Four,’ and ‘The Incredible Hulk’ are all set within the same universe.

“Satan is his father and his name is Adrian!” shouts the coven leader Roman Castevet at the end of 1968’s. Rosemary’s Baby. “He shall overthrow the mighty and lay waste their temples. He shall redeem the despised and wreak vengeance in the name of the burned and the tortured.”
Even when making allowances for Roman’s (Sidney Blackmer) understandable delight at seeing his plan come to fruition, that’s a lot of expectation to put on a newborn, no matter who his father might be. Unfortunately, the sequels chronicling Adrian’s rise to power didn’t quite live up to those expectations. Pedro Pascal did not become the name that he is today immediately after entering the Hollywood industry. It took him a long time and a great amount of patience. While skill was everpresent, recognition wasn’t. He made his name with effort seeping through every scene. Now he stands as Joel, the Mandalorian, and Javier all at the same time.

Sometime ago it was revealed that MCU’s Silver Surfer will be Julia Garner. Julia will be portraying Shalla-Bal, Norrin’s love interest in the comics, but there is a reality in which Shalla serves as the Herald of Galactus as well, Sunglow.
The reactions to Julia Garner’s casting were extremely polarizing with a good part of the community feeling that genderswapping Silver Surfer, whom 99% of people associate with being male, is extremely disrespectful to the character’s legacy. The second part of the fandom however feels that other versions of Silver Surfer – notably female ones, should get their moment of glory.
Now according to most recent rumors posted on private Pateron by Daniel Richtman, Norrin Radd will join Shalla-Bal in ‘Fantastic Four’ setting things right with the fanbase. This points in the direction that their story will be more comic-accurate than expected.

Last week, it was announced that Julia Garner will portray MCU’s Silver Surfer. She’ll depict Shalla-Bal, known as Norrin’s love interest in the comics. However, in some versions, Shalla also serves as Galactus’s Herald, known as Sunglow.
Reactions to Julia Garner’s casting were mixed. Some in the community felt that changing Silver Surfer’s gender was disrespectful to the character’s legacy, as most associate the character with being male. Others believe that alternative versions of Silver Surfer, particularly female ones, deserve recognition.
Certainly, there are already calls to boycott the movie, but this isn’t the right approach. Regardless of your stance on the film, it’s important to watch it first, even if just to critique it later with an informed perspective. Speaking of Silver Surfer in live-action, we’ve previously seen him in ‘Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,’ portrayed by Laurence Fishburne and Doug Jones.

Ever since Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man snapped and erased Thanos and his army from existence, things have been going somewhat downhill for the MCU. Although series like WandaVision and Loki kept it popular, Marvel seemed to have lost its charm.

In recent years, Disney has faced criticism for being “woke” and allegedly harming the MCU and Star Wars franchises with this approach. Many fans have noticed an increase in projects featuring female leads, gender-swapped, or race-swapped characters. Some fans feel this move disrespects the comic book legacy, while others embrace the change.
Last year, ‘The Marvels’ became the lowest-grossing MCU movie, failing to reach $100 million domestically. Similarly, ‘Madame Web’ also didn’t do well (unrelated to Disney, also having a female lead.
Then there’s the Star Wars Universe and the “The Force is Female” slogan. While some of the criticism towards these projects is undoubtedly hateful, the quality of writing has also declined significantly. Stories have become watered down, focusing more on the character’s gender rather than their depth. But that’s a discussion for another time.
Yesterday, the casting for Silver Surfer was announced, revealing a female version played by Julia Garner.

In the last few years, Disney has been increasingly accused of being woke and destroying both MCU and Star Wars franchises with “wokeness.” Fans cannot ignore the fact that a lot more projects have female leads, gender-swapped characters, or race-swapped characters. While part of the fandom considers this incredibly insulting to the legacy of comic books, the other side of the fandom greets the change with open arms ready to fully embrace this new direction in entertainment.
Last year, ‘The Marvels’ broke one of the most infamous records a movie can break, it was the lowest-grossing MCU movie in history not even being able to gross $100 million at the box office domestically. Then ‘Madame Web’ flopped (unrelated to Disney), what do the two projects have in common? Both had female leads.

“Somewhere, deep within the deep vastness of outer space, an incredible figure hurtles thru the cosmos, a being whom we shall call the Silver Surfer, for want of a better name!” That typically verbose bit of narration by Stan Lee comes from Fantastic Four #48, in which it accompanied the powerful imagery of Jack Kirby in his prime.
Since that moment, the Silver Surfer has become a major part of the Marvel Universe, appearing not only in countless comics but also in many film and television adaptations. The upcoming Fantastic Four MCU movie promises to continue the tradition, and director Matt Shakman has announced that the character has been cast. However, it’s not comicdom’s original Silver Surfer, Norrin Radd, whom actor Julia Garner (Ozark) will be portraying. Rather it’s Shalla-Bal.

Julia Garner is one of the most promising young actors in the industry at present, and her role in Ozark proved it without a shadow of a doubt. While the actress has carved a niche for herself in the thriller genre, her versatility knows no bounds.
Garner has already found fame with the Netflix show. However, her career is set to get a big boost with Marvel Studios nabbing her to play an iconic character in the new Fantastic Four film. Garner is a rare prodigy, but her one fear on the sets of Ozark proved that she is still as human as anyone else.

As Marvel Studios attempts to recover from a series of underperformances, the company hopes to recapture fans with some returning favorites like the revival of Daredevil, as well as Jon Bernthal’s incarnation of The Punisher. And one of the most-anticipated films to come out this year will be the Ryan Reynolds-Hugh Jackman frenemy team-up in Deadpool & Wolverine. As Marvel Studios reclaim certain film properties like the X-Men as they did long ago with Spider-Man, fans are hoping for a thrilling and faithful adaptation of Marvel’s first family in The Fantastic Four.

Julia Garner, the three-time Emmy-winning co-star of “Ozark,” looks to be joining Marvel’s next big bet, the relaunch of the First Family of Comics, “Fantastic Four.” As per Deadline, she’ll be appearing as the grooviest of villains, the Silver Surfer. But before you can reach for your podcast mic and shout about how producers are ruining movies by making them all woke, please note that a female version of the Silver Surfer, known as Shalla-Bal, does exist in various splinters of the comics’ multiverse. So there.

Matt Shakman’s The Fantastic Four is reported to have hired Ozark star Julia Garner in the film. The film already has an ensemble cast in the form of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon-Moss Bachrach. It will be the first depiction of the characters in the MCU and is rumored to be set in an alternate reality. The characters have had two iterations before.
Julia Garner has been cast as the Silver Surfer in the upcoming film, which seemingly has not gone down well with fans. Though it is speculated that she would be playing the role of Shalla-Bal, a female version of the supervillain in another reality, fans seem to be extremely upset with the gender-swapped role and criticized Marvel for the move.

Julia Garner is boarding Marvel’s The Fantastic Four, reportedly signing on to play the Silver Surfer.
According to Deadline, the Emmy-winning Ozark actor will portray a Shalla-Bal version of the classic cosmic comic character. In the original Marvel stories, Shalla-Bal is the lover of Norrin Radd. When the planet-consuming Galactus threatens to devour their home of Zenn-La, Radd offers his servitude as Galactus’ herald, becoming the Silver Surfer in exchange for saving his world — and his lover.
While there are stories in which Silver Surfer shares his Power Cosmic with Shalla-Bal, she never actually carries the Silver Surfer title or appearance. At least not in the main Marvel timeline; fans will recall the alternate reality series Earth-x, where both Radd and Shalla-Bal share the name, look, and powers of Silver Surfer.

When it comes to comparing Marvel and DC animated shows, one always seems to find itself on top. From Young Justice to Batman Beyond, the upper hand goes to DC in many ways. That does not necessarily mean that Marvel is far behind. Especially with the release of X-Men ’97, tides are bound to turn at some point. In the first episode of "X-Men '97," the 2024 continuation of the 30-year-old "X-Men: The Animated Series," Cyclops (Ray Chase) and several other X-Men break into a warehouse occupied by a well-armed militia of bigots, keen on murdering mutants. The bigots are armed with fist-mounted laser cannons extrapolated from Sentinel technology. As X-Men fans know, Sentinels are 30-foot purple robots programmed to capture and/or kill mutants. Cyclops, using his powerful optic blasts, rescues a mutant called Robert da Costa (Gui Agustini), but he's then captured by the bigots. You’re not imagining things: video games really have gotten easier over the years. That’s due, in large part, to the now-common addition of variable difficulty settings and other accessibility options. While some gamers complain these things make games too easy, they’re a welcome change for many of us who grew up in the ‘80s.
Much of the Nes library was known for its extreme difficulty. Part of that was due to the console’s technical limitations. It just wasn’t always easy to make characters move as developers intended. Sometimes it was much more conscious. Developers would make games harder so that they would last longer and so that gamers couldn’t just blow through titles in a weekend rental. But even keeping those things in mind, a few developers went above and beyond to create some of the most devious and fiendishly difficult challenges imaginable. Decades later,...

Since Marvel Studios hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to their recent premiers at the box office, they are now locked in heavily with the production and excellent execution of their future projects, the biggest among them being none other than the reboot of The Fantastic Four.
Thus, to make it stand out from the others that came before it, they are putting some serious effort and thought into it.

Along with lining the main characters with a star cast, there have now been alleged leaks and speculative reports of a synopsis of the upcoming film, which is proving to be looking more like a bad thing than good. This short summary of the story has many flaws that the fans have figured out, especially about the narrative taking place in the Multiverse rather than Earth-616.
