Based in a 1950's public school Drummonds broke a few boundaries, In Steiner the programme tackled the subject of Anti-Semitism between the lead character Steiner and the other boys in the school namely Barton,Fairbanks and the character I played in the episode Seloe.
The episode was fun and lighthearted in places ( especially my rendition of Heartbreak Hotel!!) but also dark and moody with the audience following poor Steiner as he gets bullied by the ruthless Barton
The show also starred Gary Waldhorn as Steiners father who failed to believe that his boy was being bullied just for being Jewish and John Grillo as the Jewish teacher Ziggy who was also having problems understanding Steiner
The counter storyline in this episode was the love triangle between George Drummond ( Pascoe) and the other characters in the story
The climax of the episode was a massive Dorm Feast whereby Barton had recieved a cake from his parents and because Steiner was so upset by his treatment by the boys he stood in the cake and a fight ensued
