Sex & Nudity
-
- We briefly see what appears to be a naked woman. Some themes are a little seductive. The real Carmilla depicts a naked blood-covered woman.
Violence & Gore
-
- Adventurous, vampire violence. There is blood and fighting.
- Some graphic violence.
- D slices the ghost in half. This causes Grove to wake up in pain.
- Leila throws a knife at the shapeshifter in the forehead. The thunder then finishes her off.
- D lost his horse before being sucked in by the ghost.
- The ghost blows up both the vampire and himself. Grove then dies as a result.
- Meier hypnotizes Charlotte to the candle-surrounded corridor so that she can be bitten.
- Leila was nearly bitten in the neck by Borgoff after she saw two holes on his neck.
Profanity
-
- Minor profanity of the "damn" and "hell" variety throughout.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
-
- On several occasions a man is shown being injected with a drug. The drug enhances his powers and clearly takes a toll on his body (it is not taken for enjoyment or due to addiction). He is otherwise shown lying in a hospital-like bed. As he uses his spirit as a bomb, his hand falls down with his syringe, meaning, it is implied that he injected himself.
- Leila drinks beer at the restaurant.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
-
- Vampires and werewolves are featured throughout.
- Many scenes of a frightening though not gross nature figure into the plot as an action film. Some sites classify it as horror, but those elements are downplayed.
