nice kid series (contains one spoiler of an episode)
rabartels3 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know much anymore of these series, of course there was that spider kid, who got assignments to get the secret valley (a holiday camp) away.

I remember one episode that lofty??, the youngest kid of the secret valley troop had to watch over the secret valley, while the others were gone away.

A kid called PW?? came to take over Spider's GANG and they tight lofty up in the watch tower.

Another thing which I remember in 1981 (I was 9 years old), that the series were a Dutch (KRO) /German (ZDF?) /Spanish (E-TV)/Australian (ABC) co-production and that they used a cover of the Australian national anthem as Tune of the series

I grew up with this, and I loved it!

Some of my first great memories of TV were from shows just like this! It was all in good fun and very basic and dodgy, but that's what made it so watchable.

I grew up with this show and other childrens shows like You Can't Do That On Television, Double Dare, Agro's Cartoon Connection and The Girl From Tomorrow, and I'll never forget it! I might be reaching my mid 20's now (ooh where's my walking stick) but accidentally stumbling across this page through other links brought back a few good memories.

I do remember that one of the girls in the show seemed to have developed really fast up front, but I was too young to notice in that way. I just thought she was unusually big.

You have to wonder where these people are now. Simone Buchanan went on to have a successful career for a while and Max Cullen has had a lot of roles in his life, but you don't hear much about the rest. They probably went on with their lives and we probably pass them on the street more than we realize and we don't even notice them.

If anyone does know what any of these people are doing now (including Simone Buchanan), please make a post about it. I'm interested to know. It would be nice if the ABC threw a few shows on here and there just for nostalgia.

Re: my favourite

What a blast from the past. I don't know what I ever saw in this show but I couldn't help watching it every day after school. I used to hate Miles, and loved seeing Spider attack them with flour bombs. Although, I discovered that flour bombs didn't have the same effect in real life when our own gang tried the same things. I know that I must have been young because I didn't even find Simone attractive. Later in life I saw that WW was the toe cutter in Mad Max and remember when Spider was Dodge in Home and Away?

My favourite show when I was 5
alien_idram23 April 2000
Well when I was 5 this was my favourite show, I had the T-Shirt and wore it all the time. Now that I'm 18 I don't remember much about the show. I do remember the the characters, Lofty and Miles and the three baddies, Snake, Spider and Sparrow. The only episode I really remember is when the baddies poisoned the food at the camp. But the main thing I remember that it was a great TV show when you are 5! If anyone else remembers this show please E-Mail me.

My secret valley, my secret valley...

What a great show. My sister and I used to be addicted to this show - I think it was part of the ABC's Arvo Show with James Valentine (later hosted by Michael Tunn during the Degrassi years). If I remember correctly, the lineup included Astroboy, Monkey Magic, The Goodies, Dr Who and Starblazers. Then, at 5:30pm it was time to turn over for the more grown-up Family Ties.

However, I can't really remember much about the show these days - it would have been on over 20 years ago. The only line I can still remember was when Spider turned to Cribby and said "Things Cribby. Things like...that." What exactly the things were I can't quite remember. Water bombs no doubt.

I believe Simone Bucchanan showed up in Pacific Drive playing two characters who were twins. One was evil and the other was good and the good one had to keep covering for the evil one. Nice!
