Sex & Nudity

  • Candy Kong wears a tight, form-fitting pink swimsuit. She acts coquettishly to the playable Kongs when they stop by her tent to save the game, batting her eyebrows and blowing kisses regardless of who the main character is (she will also act this way towards Diddy Kong despite the fact that she is Donkey Kongs girlfriend).
  • Donkey Kong only wears a red tie and is otherwise unclothed, and during his rolling attack his bare buttocks can be seen during the animation.

Violence & Gore

  • Mild animated/platform action violence. Donkey and Diddy Kong defeat various enemies by jumping on them or throwing wooden barrels, steel kegs and explosive TNT barrels at them. Defeated enemies simply fall offscreen.
  • Mild action violence.
  • Two animal buddies can fight foes as well; Rambi the rhino charges and strikes oncoming enemies with his horn, and Enguarde the swordfish charges into foes with his pointed barb. Again, defeated enemies simply fly offscreen.
  • Almost all bosses are fought in this fashion, either jumped on or hit with thrown barrels. When defeated, they fall on the ground dazed or unconscious.
  • Defeated singular Kong characters will fall to the ground and react differently; Donkey will scratch his head confused, and Diddy will nurse a bruised eye and head with dazed stars spinning around his head.
  • Before the end credits, Donkey and Diddy engage in a slapstick-style trade-off of physical practical jokes to one another.
  • No bloodshed or gore is seen.

Profanity

  • Mild insulting statements from Cranky Kong, though in a comical fashion ala an old codger telling it like it is (Back in MY DAY!)

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The 'Game Over' screen may unsettle some players. It has been known for scaring a few people due to its disturbing subject matter (as it shows Donkey and Diddy Kong painfully injured, complete with bruises and bandages, and the picture is shown with excessive detail), the black background and the depressing music, not to mention the nature of this is a complete derailment from the game's lighthearted nature, as well as its over-the-top, wacky, goofy and comedic tone.
  • Some of the levels can be intense to play including Snow Barrel Blast, Tanked Up Trouble, and Platform Perils can be frustrating for players as they can fall in the pit.
  • The music during regular boss battles is rather tense in approach.
