Visual depiction of the role of women throughout human history
llltdesq18 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This is a short done by the Hubley Studio for the Council of Churches. There will be mild spoilers ahead:

Through visuals and music (with a bit of musical vocalization with no words) the viewer is shown the roles plated by women. The short stars with the Earth as the center of the universe and then the shift to a heliocentric universe. The places of women relative to men in various ages and cultures is depicted, with women shown at points in varied forms of restraint-cages, padlocks and so on.

The animation and backgrounds are typical of the style the Hubleys began using in the 1960s and it's a fascinating short, though sometimes difficult to follow.

This short is available on The Hubley Collection Volume One DVD and is well worth seeking out. Recommended.
