The Start of Bloody Roar
Terryfan21 January 2015
This was the game that started the Bloody Roar series. The series that allow your fighter to transform into a beast during the match.

Bloody Roar 1 was first released on the Playstation in 1997. While Bloody Roar might not have been the same fighter that fans of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat it does hold up good on it own.

The intro of the game shows you what you can expect for Bloody Roar and it was pretty good with transformations to boot.

While today the graphics may not impress everyone at the time they were pretty good and they can still be good.

The sound is good with the fighters grunts and the beast using their claws for attacks.

The controls are pretty good for a pick up to play but it is a button smasher and you have to be on your tows for this game.

The game is more fun when you play it with friends or family so it could last longer.

Overall Bloody Roar was the start of the series and it deserves another try.

If you like fighting games then you may want to get Bloody Roar a try.

I give Bloody Roar a 7 out of 10

See giant rabbits and wolves fight to the death ! haa haa!

Bloody roar is a standard fighting game. Nothing to write home about. Nothing to loose sleep over . The characters are bland and the special moves that they do arent exactly ... special. BUT theres a gimmick that makes the whole affair worth while : THE ABILLITY TO TRANSFORM INTO A MUTANT ANIMAL HYBRID THING ! YEAH ! Its this tansformation that adds a teeny bit more depth to the game and makes you play it for a bit longer than you would if the game was really bad.

Something also worth mentioning about the game is its incredibly corny 80s cartoon style rock sound track .The rock ballads here are so bad that they become funny and eventually enjoyable in a bad way.

If fighting wolves with the abillity to walk up right is your idea of a good time, get your teeth(and / or claws ) into bloody roar

VERY poor fighting game

The graphics of Bloody Roar are painfully dated and are very choppy. As a kid I thought this was the best fighting game in the whole world but as I'm here now in the present, compared to other fighting games, no one ever mentions this one. King fighting games like street fighter and Tekken are 90's games but they are talked about a lot around me, even in the arcades and those games will never be old skool because they are true classics but Bloody Roar ranks no where near them. The lack of characters bored me as well.

Only if you are HIGHLY bored should you give this game a go.
