- At a costume party, Jabbs and Pokes are dressed as women, and their wives are dressed as men. Multiple mistaken identities ensue, with Jabbs losing his dress and Mrs. Pokes almost losing her pants.
- Pokes and Jabbs are still living in the same apartments and are on friendly terms as usual. On her birthday, Jabbs presents the Mrs. with a pearl necklace. Pearls are an ill omen and bring tears and this case was no exception. Mrs. Jabbs, about to go upon an errand for her husband, meets Mr. Pokes in the hallway, and while examining the new necklace is seen through the keyhole by Mr. Jabbs. Trouble is at once started. Mrs. Pokes, also peeping through the keyhole, sees what she thinks is her husband with Mrs. Jabbs held in a tender embrace. More trouble. Mrs. Pokes and Mr. Jabbs seize the things handiest and start for the hallway, but Mr. Pokes and Mrs. Jabbs have gone and they pounce upon a poor, unsuspecting lodger from the upper floor. Pokes telephones to Jabbs to meet him. Jabbs seizes the opportunity of his wife's absence and does so. Over a friendly drink in the saloon, they are presented with a ticket for a mask ball. Meanwhile, Mrs. Pokes, who is a member of the society giving the ball, has invited Mrs. Jabbs to attend as her escort. Mrs. Pokes, in Jabbs's clothes, starts out with Mrs. Jabbs. Pokes and Jabbs return home and Jabbs, disguising himself as a woman, joins Pokes and they leave for the ball. Numerous events take place when the two couples come face to face in the saloon. Mr. Pokes is anxious to get Jabbs away so that he will not see his wife with another man and Mrs. Jabbs is anxious to get Mrs. Pokes away so that she will not see her husband with another woman. After a trying ordeal they do so, and return home. Mistaking each other for intruders, a lively chase ensues, which is ended in the hallway by Jabbs losing his skirt and Mrs. Pokes almost losing her trousers. Things are explained and all is forgotten.—Moving Picture World synopsis
