Chris Brown’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran sat down with Iyanla Vanzant for an exclusive interview on Own’s Iyanla: Fix My Life Saturday night to discuss everything from Brown’s betrayal to her career aspirations. But let’s be real. We all wanted to know one thing: What the hell was she thinking going back to Breezy after he lied, cheated on her, and fathered a baby with another woman? Vanzant asked all the hard questions, and the hour certainly didn’t disappoint.
If you don’t know the Tran/Brown saga, here are the CliffsNotes. Tran met Brown at a styling gig two years ago and after a few dates — including a 2:30 Am diner run — they became an item. In an upcoming episode of "Iyanla: Fix My Life," parents Traci and Andre ask spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant for her help in "fixing" their two adult children. They disapprove of their daughter Jazmin's plan to marry her boyfriend, a man they've banned several times from their house.

She says Jazmin's boyfriend asked her father and brother for permission to marry her, and both said they thought it was too soon. "So for Christmas, he gave [Jazmin] that ring and he said, 'This would have been an engagement ring, but your dad and your brother said no,'" Traci says. "Well, that caused the first rift."
"Yeah, but isn't that the truth?" Iyanla interjects.

R&B recording artist and reality star Syleena Johnson hasn't had a good relationship with her mother, Brenda Thompson. As a child, Syleena says her mother called her names and bullied her, and now, as an adult, the lingering resentment and hurt has made moving on next to impossible. Still, Syleena invited her mother to live with her when Brenda began struggling with alcohol again and the family dynamic has since gone from bad to worse.
Enter Iyanla Vanzant. On the season premiere of "Iyanla: Fix My Life," Iyanla travels to Georgia to help Syleena work through her pain and begin to mend her relationship with Brenda. In the above video from the episode, Iyanla has the women sit down to talk about their issues face-to-face.
Syleena begins by admitting her fear. "I don't want anyone to know that I'm scared because... I feel that that's a weakness," she says.

In 1998, Iyanla Vanzant took "The Oprah Show" by storm, gracing Oprah's stage 20 times and talking to Harpo Studios about developing her own show. However, in 1999, Iyanla was approached with an offer by a television executive from another network and chose to accept it. Oprah and Iyanla didn't talk for 11 years until a 2011 "Oprah Show" conversation set the record straight for both of them -- but the path to peace wasn't easy.
Though Iyanla and Oprah have since put the falling out behind them, their rift ran deep. During an appearance on "Super Soul Sunday," Iyanla admits that she struggled with their past, but also seems grateful for how everything played out. Last Saturday's second season premiere with rapper Dmx and his son pulled in 1.4 million viewers, which is an increase of 22% from last season's premiere episode with Basketball Wives reailty star Evelyn Lozada. And the late night repeast of the Dmx show pulled in another 420, 000 viewers. As for the reason for the show's success, Iyanla said that "There's a lot of...

Sheree Whitfield, a former cast member of "Real Housewives of Atlanta," has been building her dream mansion -- Chateau Sheree -- for years. When Sheree and Iyanla Vanzant visit the unfinished home in a new episode of "Iyanla: Fix My Life," the reality star sees the structure as a beautiful property with great potential. Iyanla, however, has a different perspective, believing the home represents how many parts of Sheree's life are also incomplete.
As the two women walk up the long drive to Chateau Sheree, Iyanla asks the former reality star what she thinks when she sees her in-progress mansion. "I think it's going to be beautiful when it's done," Sheree says in the clip. "It's something that I did for my kids. For my family."
"Why is that for your children?" Iyanla asks.
"They need a home," Sheree answers.
But this home, Iyanla points out, is incomplete -- just like Sheree's marriage.

After her explosive interview with multiplatinum hip-hop artist and actor Dmx, Iyanla Vanzant felt that there were some important things left unsaid. Though the two haven't spoken since their sit-down in Dmx's hometown of Yonkers, New York, Iyanla recorded an open message to the rapper to let him know that he's still in her heart -- and to share her lingering concerns in the hopes of helping Dmx change his life.
One of those concerns stems from what Iyanla has been hearing from Dmx's family and friends. "What I'm hearing is that they're just waiting for 'the call,'" Iyanla says in the clip. "You know what I mean."
Iyanla says she is taking a different approach. "I'm not waiting for that call," she tells Dmx. "I'm calling on you. And I'm not going to give up on you. I will not stand by and watch my brother die."

Multiplatinum hip-hop artist and actor Dmx has had a rocky relationship with his son, Xavier. In an effort to sort through their issues, Iyanla Vanzant sits both men down for what she hopes will be a heart-to-heart healing session -- but the discussion doesn't go as planned.
In this clip from the 90-minute season premiere of "Iyanla: Fix My Life," Xavier begins to tell his father how he feels about their past, but Dmx's defensive response prompts Iyanla to step in. "You're not letting him finish," she says to Dmx.
"Lady, please," Dmx says, launching into a string of curse words. "Listen, this is my son right here. I'm talking to him!"
"Lower your voice," Iyanla tells Dmx. "Pump your brakes. Pump your brakes, brother. This is the only thing I want to say: He's trying. He's not feeling heard by you, X. Let him finish a sentence."

Dmx is a multiplatinum hip-hop artist and actor. He might also turn out to be one of the most controversial guests of Iyanla Vanzant's career. In this sneak peek from the 90-minute premiere episode of "Iyanla: Fix My Life," Dmx and Iyanla meet in Dmx's hometown of Yonkers, New York, for what ends up being an explosive sit-down.
During the course of the conversation, Dmx and Iyanla tackle topics such as drugs, women, the rapper's relationship with his son and Dmx's arrest record. Despite having been arrested "roughly 30" times, Dmx tells Iyanla in this clip that prison wasn't painful for him, because being institutionalized was something he had experienced as a child.
"My mom put me away at 7," Dmx says. "I enjoyed it… Being in institutions, I got three meals a day, clothes..."
"So then why are you hurt because your mother put you in there?" Iyanla asks.

The Oprah Winfrey Network had a good weekend and it wasn’t all thanks to the lady herself. The two night premiere of the network’s new Iyanla: Fix My Life series was Own’s top debut since the network went to air in January 2011. The second season premiere of Welcome To Sweetie Pie’s on Saturday at 9 Pm brought the reality show a series high. Featuring life coach Iyanla Vanzant, Fix My Life’s 10 Pm Saturday show got a 1.18 among the W25-54 demo, with 1,136,000 million total viewers. That brought the new show in second in its time period among the demo on all ad-supported cable networks. The number one show was the second hour of ABC Family’s broadcast of the Sandra Bullock movie The Blindside, which got a 1.34 among W25-54. The next night’s broadcast of Iyanla: Fix My Life got a 1.73 among the...

With screams only canines can hear, I too am 'adjusting' to the anaphylactic shock of seeing Oprah in the flesh, yet soon wind down with the rest of the audience into my newly hijacked front row seat.
Oprah thanks this sea of over 9,000 fans, "This is largest crowd we've ever had for our Lifeless series," she says.
An outpouring of love and adulation is flowing from the crowd:
"We love you Oprah!"
"You look so skinny Oprahhhh!"
"Well, I have to get me back to Canada more often" she says cheekily.
"You should come to Montreal next," someone yells.
"Ok, Mon-Tre-Al next," says Oprah like she's ordering takeout.
On the various screens behind her are an array of international Skypers all confined to their digital squares, not unlike the Brady Bunch intro. There's a woman from New Zealand, an Indian couple, and a group of women from the Rockville Correctional...

New York -- Oprah Winfrey says creating her new cable network has turned out to be a steep climb.
"I'm climbing Kilimanjaro," she told advertisers Thursday at a presentation for Own: The Oprah Winfrey Network. She quickly explained that her Kilimanjaro is at the offices of Own.
"You know that song, `The Time of My Life'? I've had the climb of my life," she cracked.
The network has struggled to build an audience since its launch in January 2011. It recently announced severe staff layoffs and a management shakeup with Discovery Communications, the company that's bankrolled it with $300 million-plus.
But Winfrey struck a hopeful note in her brief remarks, even as she allowed she's still nowhere near the channel's summit of success.
"With our restructuring and right-sizing and getting into the sauce of what needs to happen every day, I feel like I can at least now see the summit," she said.
