Sex & Nudity

  • The protagonist, Joanna Dark, is wearing a dress in one cutscene. It's the kind that isn't very modest. However, nothing is revealing or seen apart from her legs.

Violence & Gore

  • When you shoot someone blood is seen. If they are near to a wall, blood also shoots onto the wall at times.
  • Lots of different weapons are used, ranging from realistic guns, to a combat knife, to a crossbow, and even alien guns.

Profanity

  • In the cutscenes, swear words aren't seen that much, and most of the times "Damn" and "Hell" are used, alongside God's name.
  • Enemies swear the most in the game, and will mainly cuss when they see your character, shout it in surprise, or get shot. They say things like "Oh my God", "What the Hell?" and "You Bitch!". They may say "Holy Shit" as well, but this is VERY rarely and infrequently. Most of the enemy dialogue is muffled by gunfire and the player will mostly be distracted to hear what the enemies are saying.
  • Mild-moderate level language that varies throughout the game.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In one level, there is a wine cellar full of wine bottles.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Aliens are seen at times, but they are not frightening.
  • Aliens will sometimes pop out at you. May be a little frightening.
  • The Nintendo 64 version of the game was rated mature for animated blood and animated violence, but now has the content of a teen-rated game because the violence isn't nearly as realistic anymore. The Xbox Live Arcade version however has better graphics, therefore is rated mature for violence and blood.
