Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • A fist fight between 2 inmates. They are seen bruised but nothing gorey. Several scenes of preisoners being beaten by gurds and shot upon by rubber bullets.
  • Yates is knocked down a flight of stairs by some guards.
  • There's a large battle scene where several men are shot with rubber bullets, lots of fist fights break out, several lookout towers are blown up in fiery explosions, and a helicopter crashes in a large explosion.
  • A brawl breaks about between several inmates and prison guards, but it's quickly stopped.

Profanity

  • Much of the language is hard to hear, as it usually comes from the prisoners and many people are talking over each other. It may be very difficult, if not impossible, to exactly count all of the profanities in this film.
  • Approximately 37 uses of 'fuck', 15 uses of 'shit', 7 uses of 'hell', 7 uses of 'ass', 7 uses of 'bitch', 3 uses of 'prick', 1 use of 'bastard', 2 uses of 'Christ' and 'Jesus' collectively as an exclamation, and 2 uses of 'God' as an exclamation.

  • Characters use cigarettes as a form of trade/betting goods while in jail.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The whole movie is kind of intense until the last half, and it really heats up. The ending is emotional.
