Tasteless but arousing porn version by Luca Damiano

This porno version of SNOW WHITE has had amazing staying power -it currently ranks some 15 years after its release among the best-selling adult DVDs on the U.S. market.

Reason is top-quality production values, a truly beautiful XXX actress as the heroine, and enough kinkiness, involving the dwarf actors, to satisfy the jaded tastes of porn fans.

Luca Damiano was an expert at lavishly produced Euro porn in the '90s. NOTE: The moronic IMDb commenter from Kentucky who insists on misidentifying films he's barely watched has called this and X HAMLET Joe D'Amato movies, when the credits clearly give Luca the honor, Joe having merely served as 2nd unit director.

The point to be made is that Luca was committed to porn, whereas D'Amato, analogous to Joe Sarno, toiled away making dozens & dozens of XXX films and videos under protest when the marketplace shifted in tastes. His heart wasn't in it, and it shows in the mechanical results. Damiano on the other hand, having taking his nom de film from the greatest of all porn directors, Gerard, tried to make real movies, with quality costumes, storyline, top talent and attractive sets & locations.

Their quality is variable (WHORE HOUSE with Milly D'Abbraccio an example of low-quality quickie), but at his best Luca delivered the masturbatory goods. Beyond SNOW WHITE, I recommend his X HAMLET, ORIENT EXPRESS (shot atmospherically on a moving train), MARCO POLO, CLAUSURA (nuns epic), DECAMERON TALES and especially EROTIC ADVENTURES OF RED RIDING HOOD.

Sexiest movie I ever saw

I loved this movie. For the most part, I agree with Morton Grimp. What struck me especially is how lovely Snow White looks. She's so pretty in her perfectly copied Snow White dress.

The way Snow White acts all innocent in a believable manner makes it all the more enticing. The only two things I like less about the movie are the music (which gets somewhat annoying after a while) and the way some of the dwarfs look (why didn't they cast normal-looking dwarfs (like in Willow)? Snow White & 7 Dwarfs (1995)

A rather amusing Italian rip off of the Disney film. This was directed by Joe D'Amato so you should know what to expect. The horny stepmother throws the virgin Snow White out of her house but soon the seven dwarfs show up to teach her things so that she'll be able to impress the King. This film actually has a lot more story than sex and it's rather cute and disturbing all at the same time. There's some funny dialogue and I'm a bit shocked to say this but the woman who plays Snow White (I couldn't find her name) is actually very good in the role. The only downside is that the film runs over 110-minutes.

**IMDB lists an alternate director but Joe D'Amato was credited on the version I watched.

Director Joe D'Amato will always be remembered for his horror films like BEYOND THE DARKNESS and ANTROPOPHAGUS as well as his long running Emanuelle series with Laura Gamser. After the Italian horror market dried up, D'Amato had a comeback with the softcore ELEVEN DAYS ELEVEN NIGHTS, which eventually led to the director doing porn titles. The director had previously mixed sex and horror in such titles as PORNO HOLOCAUST and EROTIC NIGHS OF THE LIVING DEAD but those films were a long way off from his later day porn.
