The best entertainment in net play
Thiago_Moyses25 October 2001
PSO is really the best entertainment in net-playing. I enjoy more playing PSO than Counter-Strike for PC. The reason is the diverseness of the game in many hours playing. In CS you only choose one of 2 sides and try to kill the other( or save hostages or plant a bomb). In PSO you and your role-playing game team of 4 characters at maximum will face a lot of labyrinths with a thousand of enemies and different sceneries. There is 9 classes of adventurers, including sorcerers, warriors, gunmen and robots, each one with a lot of magic spells, battle techniques and a variety number of weapons. And the most important: even without a broadband, you can play it without a lag! The real-time text-communication improve the notion of a group in exploring the dungeons. The real-time graphics, the light effects, the characters' illumination, the scenery textures and details, the playability, everything at all are excellent. Sometimes you look like a jedi playing with your light saber, even better when you have the double faced light saber, like Darth Maul's in Episode 1.

Just play it and see if is really good as I said(I have no doubt in it!)

A big disappointment from the original Phantasy Star
DungeonMaster90725 February 2003
When I first played PSO I expected it to be a great game, better than the original. But I was very very sad after 10 min of game play. The camera controls and angels are crap. And when four people are playing the game slows down alot..........weird,no it is just a bad game. And second you never accomplish anything on the multiplayer mode. Yes you do level up and defeat monsters, but you really do not accomplish anything. You level up defeat a boss and you do it again, you do not save anyone or anything. Only die hard fans to the first Phantasy Star should only buy this game. There are alot better RPG's coming out for gamecube and already have many good RPG's for Computer. My sugesstion is do not waste your time while you could be playing at least a decent game like the original Phantasy Star. I give PSO a 3/10.

Should Of been the start of good online Games yet was the end for the dreamcast
adamknox1 July 2004
Hi, I played this game for the first time a few years ago and was hooked! This game was the first proper Internet game for the dream cast. There were other games but none really took off like PSO. The online features were brilliant like being able to battle (Ver2 only) fight with friends to upgrade your weapons, level up & creating clans with your friends. Yet there was one major problem! The cheaters! There was a massive flaw with the only feature it was very easy to hack and cheat. This is where the game started on its down slide. This game should of been the making of the dreamcast ,and it did keep the dreamcast alive for a while, yet it was its downfall in the end. I heard that they lost nearly a quarter of its profits on the dreamcast consoles just to patch PSO to stop hackers.

In my own mind this was a great game and i would LOVE to see it be re-born on the ps2! with the online feature perfected (no hackers) :)if you agree or disagree post it on the message boards :) >From An old pso player Adam Warren A.k.A Nightwalker, ~Fe~ Flame P.s I think the pso servers are down for this game. So you can only play it offline :) So if you want to play it online buy the Game cube Version or the x-Box version
