Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • On several occasions, we hear very loud crashing sounds and are told that it is people jumping from the building.
  • Cinemax content advisory for the more extreme uncensored version of the documentary: rated TV-MA-LV for violence (V) and adult language (AL). BBFC 18 for the uncensored version.
  • The whole atmosphere of the documentary is violent, given the nature of the terrorist attack. We see dead bodies, and some blood. It's very graphic although not super graphic to the point where it's just carnage. Most of the worst footage are somewhat tamed down. The shots of the Towers being on fire is creepy and diabolical.
  • People jumping from the towers to escape the heat and flames are shown, and we hear the thuds of the impacts. Graphic.
  • A plane crashes into a building.
  • A second plane crashes into another building.
  • A man is killed when a building collapses.
  • Debris almost kills a group of men.
  • A man states that he saw people on fire when he entered a building.
  • A group of firefighters attempt to rescue and escape from a building.
  • A second building collapses.
  • We see people jumping from two buildings.
  • A man says, "Everytime we'd hear a boom, it was people jumping from the building."

Profanity

  • The directors' cut contains more profanity than the version that aired on tv, probably at least 15-20 F-words total. Although this seems very trivial in the context of the horrific events taking place.
  • 4 uses of the word "Hell".
  • 1 use of the word "damn".
  • 1 use of "f##k"
  • 1 use of "holy sh#t"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some of the firemen and the Gaudet brothers are seen smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages in a few scenes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • We hear what we are told is the very loud sound of people falling and hitting the ground or the lower part of the building. Very disturbing.
  • The whole film is about the real events of 9/11 in New York.
  • People rush in the streets after a plane colldies with a building.
  • Crowds in the street run for safety from a second plane that hits a building.
  • Debris almost kills a group of men.
  • A man tries to leave a firefighter station without permission to help in a terrorist disaster.
  • A group of firefighters attempt to act on their own without permission and go to two buildings with planes crashed inside.
  • A group of firefighters are inside a building when it collapses. They run for safety.
  • After the destruction of two buildings that collapsed, the men try to listen for survivors calling for help.
