Disappointing documentary
Andy-29618 September 2007
A boring film on a potentially interesting subject, the life of one Eduardo Rossi, a former rugby player, a onetime extreme right wing nationalist, and a collector of World War II memorabilia. He now lives in the province of Formosa, one of Argentina's poorest, in the Chaco region, where he trains a rugby team composed completely of aborigines, in this case, from the Toba ethnic group. This group, like most indigenous people around the world, has been marginalized by the rest of society. I suppose the director believes there is some irony or paradox in a former right wing guy who wakes up to social conscience by training a traditionally marginalized people in playing a sport usually played by rich people. But there is very little in the film, it's just features uninteresting interviews with Rossi along with footage of the rugby team and some of his WW2 mementos.
